Leicester City vs. West Ham United
At the end of the 25th matchday of the Premier League, the clash between Leicester City and West Ham United is scheduled for early Sunday evening. The match will kick off at the King Power Stadium at 17:30.
In the previous season, this would have been a duel between two Champions League aspirants. However, due to the Foxes’ relatively disappointing season, this year it is only the Hammers who can still hope for the top flight a few months before the end of the season. Our Leicester vs West Ham tip will tell you whether we think they have the advantage in Sunday’s direct clash and what else we think about this game.

Leicester -West Ham Tip
The favourite is quickly picked in this encounter, although that often means nothing in the evenly matched Premier League. West Ham have won four of their last six games and have been convincing away from home with an unusual number of goals. Leicester, on the other hand, have been winless for three games and have also been waiting for a three-game win in their direct encounter with the Hammers. Whether they get three points on Sunday, however, is not really decisive for the rest of the season, as both the international ranks and the relegation places are quite a way away. West Ham, on the other hand, could do with every point in their fight for international football.
Leicester Form & Balance Check
After their recent three-game winless drought, the hosts should have finally come to terms with the fact that they will not be competing for the Europa or even the Champions League places this season. After a poor start to the season and only two wins from the first seven games, the Foxes have caught up in the meantime, but have not been able to build on the successful results of late. Especially in the defeat against Tottenham, however, there was also a lot of bad luck involved.
Foxes with incredible defeat
The Foxes were still leading 2-1 against Spurs until the 95th minute (!), before Steven Bergwijn actually turned the game in favour of the visitors with his late goals (95th,97th). In the subsequent 1-1 draw against Brighton, Leicester only conceded the equaliser in the 82nd minute, which was also quite unfortunate. Last weekend, however, Brendan Rodgers’ team lost 2-0 to Liverpool in a relatively clear defeat.
The season is now over, because even with a decent final spurt, it won’t be possible to finish any higher than mid-table. Since no new players were signed in the winter, the current staff can now concentrate on growing together as a team in order to soon be able to return to the club’s more successful times.
Leicester Facts & Analysis
– 26 points from 21 games
– Last lost 2-0 at Liverpool
– Winless in 3 games
– Almost certain to finish in mid-table
West Ham Form & Balance Check
The visitors from West Ham have somewhat outstripped their upcoming opponents when it comes to causing an upset as outsiders at the top of the Premier League table. While the Foxes have settled in mid-table this season, the Hammers are currently even on course for the Champions League with fourth place. However, it should not be forgotten that the table is somewhat skewed due to the Corona pandemic. Arsenal FC are currently one point behind, but have only played two games less.
Is it enough for the top flight in the end?
After an almost two-month period of weakness at the end of 2021 (only one win from seven games), the Hammers have got back on track in the new calendar year. In the three games between 28.12 and 12.01, Brendan Rodgers’ team scored nine goals and took the full nine points. This was followed by two defeats against Leeds United (2:3) and Manchester United (1:0), before the only match so far in February was won 1:0 against Watford FC. The golden goal was scored by Jarrot Bowen in the 68th minute.
West Ham facts & analysis
– 40 points from 24 games
– Last 1-0 win against Watford
– Won last 3 duels with Leicester
– No draw in last 8 matches
Predicted line-up – last update on 11 February 2022
Leicester will have to do without Wesley Fofana, Jonny Evans and striker Jamie Vardy. Compared to the Liverpool defeat, the eleven could nevertheless remain unchanged.
West Ham will only be without Angelo Ogbonna (cruciate ligament rupture). Kurt Zouma, who has become the unattractive focus of attention after his cat-kicking video, could be in the starting eleven again despite the scandal.
“With the quality and the players that we have, we know that we can keep going and keep pushing until the end of the season. Hopefully we can keep going and we can pick up on our form and our gelling together, and have a strong final third to the season.”
