Juventus Turin vs. AS Roma
The 3rd matchday of the Serie A has several top matches in store. While on Friday Lazio Rome welcomes Inter Milan (click here for Lazio – Inter betting tips), on Saturday Juventus Torino and AS Roma will go at it. Both are among the absolute top clubs in Italy and want to continue their good start to the season in the direct duel. The match kicks off at 15:30 on Saturday at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, with DAZN broadcasting live. Our prediction for this match can be found in the following Juventus vs AS Roma tip.
After two matchdays, Roma are one of the three teams in Serie A that have picked up the maximum six points. The minimal goal difference of 2:0 means that the capital is “only” in third place, but the start to the season has been absolutely successful. Juventus, on the other hand, are right behind them in fourth place. The Turin side have picked up four points so far and are thus right at the front of the chasing pack.

Juventus Form & Balance Check
The Old Lady from Turin finally wants to become champions again this season. After nine (!) championships in a row, they only managed fourth place twice in a row, which is of course far too little for the ambitious Bianconeri. In the Champions League, too, things have not gone particularly well in recent years. Juventus have been eliminated in the round of 16 in each of the last three editions and have never made it past the quarter-finals since the 2017 final against Real. The new season is expected to be better in all competitions.
Nameable reinforcements
But Juve have strengthened themselves financially. The Turin side spent around 100 million euros on Chiesa, Kostic, Bremer and Cambiaso, plus the two top transfers of Pogba and di Maria on a free transfer. The old lady won the league opener against Sassuolo with a commanding 3-0 victory, with di Maria and Vlahovic (2) scoring. On the second matchday, however, a small setback followed. Juventus were too harmless offensively in their visit to Sampdoria Genoa and were lucky to keep the score at 0-0, even when the hosts scored an aluminium goal.
Juventus facts & analysis
– Currently 4th in Serie A, 4 points from 2 games.
– Last played 0:0 against Sampdoria
– Still without conceding a goal
AS Roma form & balance check
Roma will also be looking to do better next season than they have done recently. For four years, the capitals could not qualify for the Champions League, José Mourinho could not change that in the past season. The Romans finished in sixth place and qualified for the Europa League. However, they would have reached the Europa League even without the league position, as AS won the title in the first edition of the new Conference League. This means Mourinho has now won all UEFA club competitions at least once.
Makeless start
In order to perform better in the upcoming season, especially in the league, Roma have strengthened with big names such as Paulo Dybala, Georginio Wijnaldum and Nemanja Matic. The start to the new season has been quite successful, and after two matchdays the capital city team has the maximum of six points. So far, the team has impressed above all with the minimalism typical of Mourinho. AS won their first two league games 1-0 against relegation candidates Salernitana and Cremonese.
AS Roma facts & analysis
– Currently 3rd place in Serie A, 6 points from 2 games.
– Last win 1:0 against Cremonese
– Still without conceding a goal
Predicted line-up – last update on 25 August 2022
On the Turin side, Allegri is relying on a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3, with new signing Kostic recently making his starting debut and Zakaria, Rugani and de Sciglio other options for the starting line-up. The top transfers di Maria and Pogba are out injured.
On the other hand, Mourinho left his team unchanged in a 3-4-2-1 twice recently, but may now be forced to make a change for the first time. Shooting star Zaniolo had to be substituted against Cremonese with a dislocated shoulder and is out for the time being, El Shaarawy should replace him. Wijnaldum will also be absent for a longer period of time due to a fractured tibia.
