Juventus Turin welcome AS Roma to their own stadium. The hosts could hardly have had a better start to the season. They are the only Italian team to have won all of their games so far and will naturally be looking to make the most of their start with another three-pointer. The Romans are less euphoric. They have just one point from their first two games and must now make sure they are not at the bottom of the table after three matchdays.
The upcoming game promises to be very exciting. Who do you think will come out on top? Let us know in the comments below:

Juventus Form & Balance Check
Juve seem to be in very strong form at the moment. After being completely out of contention for the championship last season, they want to attack again this year. And so far, this goal still seems very realistic. In their opening game, they played some very impressive soccer at home against Como, winning 3:0.
In their second league game, Hellas Verona awaited them, a team that also won their first game 3-0. Juve were not intimidated away from home, however, and made a clear statement to the competition with their second 3-0 win in a row. With six points, they are currently the only team in Serie A to have won both of their league games
Weakening at home?
Last season, Juve seemed unable to bring their usual strong soccer to the pitch in their home stadium. In a league with many strong home teams, it was clear that they had problems at home. Although they won eleven of their 19 home games, they also drew seven times and were beaten once.
These statistics are of course very solid, but not enough for a team with title ambitions. The resulting 40 points only put them in sixth place in the Serie A home table.
Juventus facts & analysis
- The only team to have won all their games so far
- Won both games 3-0
- At the top of the table
AS Rome Form & Balance Check
AS Roma managed to qualify for European soccer last season and Daniele de Rossi’s team started the new season with the same ambitions. However, the results so far have left a lot to be desired. In their opening game, they had to play Cagliari Calcio away from home and failed to convert their chances into anything tangible.
The goalless draw was their first point of the season, but was to remain their only point for the time being. In their first home game of the season, they welcomed FC Empoli, who had been fighting against relegation last year, and allowed themselves to be played downright. The Romans looked careless and unfocused, ultimately suffering a 2:1 home defeat against last year’s 17th-placed team
Weakness away from home
Looking back at last season, it’s easy to see that AS were much more comfortable at home than away. In 19 away games, they only won six, drew five and were beaten eight times.
With 23 points from 19 games, they were ninth in the away table and would of course have missed out on European football. Against Juve, they must try to get out of this away hole, otherwise it could be a very uncomfortable evening for the Romans
AS Roma facts & analysis
- 15th place in the table
- One point from two games
- Last game lost 2-1
Coach Thiago Motta is unlikely to change his formation or his line-up. The classic 4-2-3-1 has worked almost perfectly for the last two weeks.
Daniele de Rossi will probably choose between the 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-2-1 formation in the upcoming game. The former system has worked much better in recent weeks. Striker Shomurodov, who scored last week after coming on as a substitute, is of course an option in attack. Otherwise, everything will probably remain the same in terms of personnel
