The Nerazzurri, who are aiming to maintain their top spot with 64 points, will have to do so without their defensive stalwart Alessandro Bastoni, who was sent off in the last game against Atalanta Bergamo. Udinese, under coach Kosta Runjaic, may have suffered a recent 1-0 defeat against Hellas Verona, but they had previously celebrated three consecutive victories. Inter Form & Balance Check
The Nerazzurri’s attacking verve leaves little to be desired. With a goal difference of plus 38 and four wins and a draw from their last five games, Inter are impressively demonstrating their consistency. Most recently, they beat Atalanta Bergamo 2-0 away from home, and they also celebrated successful appearances in the Champions League against Feyenoord Rotterdam. In all five of their most recent matches, Inter have scored at least twice and have come out ahead at half-time in 80% of cases. Simone Inzaghi is likely to stick with his usual 3-5-2 system despite personnel concerns. With Lautaro Martínez and Marcus Thuram out injured, two regular strikers are unavailable, so Arnautović and Correa are likely to start. In midfield, Çalhanoğlu is set to play as the central figure, flanked by Barella and Mkhitaryan. On the right side, Frattesi could play for the injured Dumfries. In defense, Bastoni will be missing due to his red card, which is why Darmian will probably fill in alongside Pavard and Acerbi. Sommer will be in goal as usual. With just two points behind Torino and seven points ahead of AC Milan, Runjaic can still travel to the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium with confidence.
For the upcoming clash against Inter, Kosta Runjaic is expected to field his proven 4-4-2. Okoye is expected in goal, while Kristensen, Bijol, Solet and Zemura can form the back four. In midfield, Atta, Lovrić, Karlström and Payero are likely to pull the strings, while in attack, Lucca and Davis should provide the goal threat. However, Udinese will be without several key players: Alexis Sánchez is out with muscle problems, Thauvin is suffering from a foot injury and defender Touré is unavailable due to a knee bruise. Whether Runjaic makes tactical adjustments at short notice will only become clear shortly before kick-off.
