While the next European night in the Europa League rose at the Alte Försterei in Köpenick on Thursday, Hertha’s reality at the moment is relegation battle. Winter newcomer Florian Niederlechner has not yet scored in his four appearances for Hertha so far. Before his move to the Spree, the 32-year-old kicked for 3.5 years for the upcoming opponents from Augsburg. Augsburg FC have had many fluctuations in performance this season. Coach Schwarz is again banking on a 3-5-2 with Cigerci, Tousart and Serdar again operating in central midfield. Niederlechner will probably be particularly motivated against his old employer. Jovetić, Ejuke and Nsona will have to watch out due to injury.
We expect coach Enrico Maaßen’s team to play in a 4-4-2 again. Fredrik Jensen’s goal against Hoffenheim recommended him for the starting eleven. In addition, Iago could return to the starting line-up after a long break. Strobl, Cardona, Oxford, Rexhbecaj and Hahn are missing from the team on Saturday due to injury.
