Borussia Mönchengladbach – VfL Wolfsburg
The 11th matchday of the Bundesliga will be opened by Gladbach and Wolfsburg on Friday evening. Both teams are currently stuck in mid-table in the league and will be looking to pave the way to the upper places in the table with a win. They need to pick up points in order not to lose touch at the top and extend the gap to the dangerous places in the table.
Both teams go into this match with a draw from the last matchday, but were successful in the last DFB Cup round. Interestingly, the draw for the round of 16 matches resulted in another clash at the beginning of December. The Wolves will therefore travel to Borussia-Park twice in the space of three weeks.
We expect a match of equals with no clear favorites. For both teams, it is a groundbreaking match that promises to be exciting. Find out who will come out on top in our Gladbach – Wolfsburg betting tip

Gladbach Form & Balance Check
Gladbach are still bobbing around in the current one. The team from the Lower Rhine has not yet managed to develop a clear playing identity and the self-proclaimed upheaval is still visibly underway.
This season, Borussia have experienced setbacks time and again after some good performances, such as the derby loss against 1. FC Köln on matchday 8. The current record of the last eight competitive matches is three wins, three draws and two defeats. The 11th place in the table and only ten points reflect the fact that the foals have not yet found their form
Too weak at home
Gladbach are performing unusually poorly at home to Borussia-Park this season. They were sixth in the home table in the previous season and have only managed one win in front of their home fans this season.
There is a lack of a clear offensive game structure and Gladbach have only scored five goals at home. Away from home, on the other hand, the foals have already scored 14 goals. Coach Gerardo Seoane needs to overcome this weakness at home as quickly as possible, preferably with a win against the Wolves this weekend
Gladbach facts & analysis
- Of eleventh place in the Bundesliga
- Recently two wins and a draw
- Played 2:2 against Freiburg in the last match
Wolfsburg Form & Balance Check
Wolfsburg’s season is similar to that of Gladbach. They are also stuck in the middle of the table and are still looking for consistency. The Wolves currently occupy ninth place in the table with 13 points. On the last matchday, they again only drew 2-2 in the northern derby against Bremen and had previously suffered three consecutive defeats against Augsburg, Leverkusen and Stuttgart. The only ray of hope from the last few weeks was the win against Leipzig and thus advancing to the round of 16 of the DFB Cup
Too many goals conceded
Apart from the clean sheet in the 1:0 win against Leipzig in the cup, the Wolves have clearly conceded too many goals in recent games. In the last four league games alone, Wolfsburg have conceded ten times. Coach Nico Kovac certainly cannot be satisfied with that. Added to this is the Wolves’ weakness on the road, with only one win on foreign soil after ten matchdays.
It remains to be seen what tactical and personnel measures the coach will draw from the performances of the last few games. Kovac will not be able to call on defender Maxence Lacroix against Borussia, as he is suspended following his yellow card from the last match
Wolfsburg facts & analysis
- In ninth place in the Bundesliga
- Recently drew 2-2 against Bremen
- First away win of the season
Predicted line-up – last update on November 9, 2023
We expect the Foals to play a 4-2-3-1 system with Rocco Reitz and Julian Weigl on the double six. Tomas Čvančara could get another chance in place of Jordan Siebatcheu, who started in the last game.
Koen Casteels will be back between the posts for Wolfburg after a three-game injury lay-off. In the 3-4-2-1 formation, Jonas Wind and Lavro Majer will be back up front
