- Gladbach’s offense the seventh best in the league
- Both teams will have to attack
The Bundesliga continues with the 33rd matchday and even if the championship question has already been settled, there are still some questions to be answered. The battle to stay in the league and the race for Europe is still very exciting. Two teams in these two categories will meet on Saturday afternoon. Gladbach welcome Eintracht from Frankfurt at home.
The Foals could secure relegation with a win, while Frankfurt would be sure to play in the Europa League next season with a three-pointer. Find out who has the edge in this duel in our Gladbach – Frankfurt betting tip.
Gladbach had to face Bremen last weekend and managed to be alert and active right from the start and were rewarded with a 1:0 lead in the eighth minute. However, Borussia then acted too passively, letting the game slip out of their hands and going 2:1 behind with a double strike. Gladbach’s final offensive then gave them a justified penalty, which they used to at least level the game.
The toughest task awaited Frankfurt. They welcomed the reigning champions from Leverkusen at home and fell behind in the 12th minute. However, Eintracht showed morale and managed to equalize the game after just over half an hour. But the visitors tightened their grip on the Frankfurt defense and shortly before the break, Frankfurt had to concede the 1-2 deficit.
After the break, Dino Topmöller’s team saw no light at all and apart from a few isolated chances, nothing happened in the Leverkusen penalty area. It was a different story at the other end, where Bayer played really strongly and gave Frankfurt no chance. The 1:5 defeat was also deserved in terms of the score

Gladbach Form & Balance Check
For Gladbach, the only thing that matters at this stage of the season is staying in the league. They are currently four points clear of the relegation places and could therefore make everything clear with a win. However, they have only won one of their last five games, with two draws and two defeats. Should they even lose this home game against Frankfurt, they would have to win away in Stuttgart to escape the dangerous zone
Bad premonition?
Mönchengladbach have picked up just 13 points in their 15 second-round games this season. Only in their two relegation seasons, 1998/99 and 2006/07, were there fewer points after 15 games. Only Darmstadt took fewer points in the current second half of the season and they have already been officially relegated. If Gladbach can’t dig themselves out of this hole, things could end badly again
Gladbach facts & analysis
- Return table 16th place
- Last game draw
- Only one win from the last five games
Frankfurt Form & Balance Check
Frankfurt are currently on the decline. They have picked up just one win and one draw from their last five games and have lost three times. This puts them in 15th place in the form table, but in their last five games they have had to face Stuttgart, Bayern and Leverkusen, among others.
They are currently in sixth place, which would qualify them for the Europa League, and are four points clear of their closest rivals Freiburg. So with a win, they would be safe on international soil next season
Standard weakness
A popular tool for many teams is the set piece. High balls create a danger that is often difficult to achieve out of the game. However, corners in particular have not been an effective tool for Eintracht so far. No direct corner has led to a goal since November 2022. Frankfurt have taken over 200 corners without scoring a single goal from them
Frankfurt facts & analysis
- Sixth place in the table
- Last game lost
- Four points from the last five games
Gerardo Seoane will try the same formation as against Bremen in the upcoming game. In a 3-5-2, his team did brilliantly at the start of the last game, but then faltered for unknown reasons. Goalscorer Neuhaus is an option in the center and Cvancara could be preferred to Plea in attack this time.
Frankfurt will start in their usual 4-4-2 formation and will try to build on their first-half performance against Leverkusen. At full-back, Buta is a possibility for Tuta and Knauff has also proven himself time and again recently
