Eintracht Frankfurt – VfL Wolfsburg
Our Frankfurt – Wolfsburg prediction is: Both teams score in the 1st HZ – 3.55 odds
- Frankfurt scored in the first half in seven of their nine Bundesliga home games
- Wolfsburg also scored in seven of their nine Bundesliga away games
- The bet would have been successful in the last direct duel in Frankfurt
On Sunday at noon, Eintracht Frankfurt will face VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. The third-placed team will host the seventh-placed team at the Deutsche Bank Park.
Despite the departure of Marmoush, Frankfurt is currently in good form and has won three of its last four league games. The only point they shared was a 2-2 draw against TSG Hoffenheim on the last matchday. The only blip in the current streak is the Europa League game against AS Roma, in which the Eagles suffered a 2-0 defeat during the week. However, this did not continue to have an impact, as Frankfurt still qualified for the EL in fifth place in the table and thus advanced directly.
Wolfsburg, on the other hand, also drew 2-2 with Kiel on the last matchday. Before that, there was a 2-3 defeat at the record champions from Munich, which means that Wolfsburg has not won in two games. With 28 points at the moment, they are currently three points behind sixth-placed Mainz and still have their sights set on the international places. Whether Wolfsburg will get this win or Eintracht will remain unbeaten in 2025 can be found in our Frankfurt – Wolfsburg betting tip.

Frankfurt Form & record check
Eintracht Frankfurt could win both Bundesliga games against VfL Wolfsburg for the first time in the history of the Bundesliga. The SGE won the first leg on matchday three 2-1, and now they are looking to get the second victory. Dino Toppmöller’s team had a strong start to 2025, only conceding points for the first time in the fourth game against Hoffenheim (three wins before that). With 37 points after 19 games, Frankfurt is playing its second-best Bundesliga season, only 1992/93 saw more points (38, converted to the three-point rule).
SGE is particularly convincing in offense: with 44 goals, Frankfurt has one of the three best attacking lines in the league; only Leverkusen (46) and Bayern Munich (58) scored more. The second half suits the club from Hesse particularly well: 23 goals after the break put them in third place in the league behind Wolfsburg (24) and Bayern (32). But while Eintracht often scores in the final phase, they are also vulnerable – most recently, they conceded the equalizer in injury time against Hoffenheim.
Set-piece situations are a dangerous weapon. With six goals from corner kicks, the SGE is in second place in the league, only Wolfsburg has scored more often from a corner (eight times). However, the defense is vulnerable when it comes to corners: six goals conceded from corners is the second-worst figure, only Wolfsburg conceded more (nine).
Ekitike is taking over the scoring
Individually, Hugo Ekitiké stands out. The Frenchman scored his second Bundesliga double against Hoffenheim, having previously scored twice in the 7-2 win over Bochum on November 2, 2024. He has scored four times in the last three games and now has 15 goals in 32 Bundesliga appearances – the same number as the now departed Omar Marmoush in his first 32 appearances for the SGE.
In terms of age structure, Frankfurt is also one of the younger teams in the league: with an average starting XI of 25 years and 243 days, the SGE is the third youngest team of the season, only Stuttgart (25 years, 106 days) and Wolfsburg (25 years, 127 days) are even younger.
Frankfurt Facts & Analysis
- First chance to win both duels against the Wolves
- Third-best offense in the league
- Ekitike with four goals in the last three games
Wolfsburg Form & Record Check
VfL Wolfsburg have celebrated the most Bundesliga victories against Borussia Mönchengladbach (23), closely followed by their record against Eintracht Frankfurt (22, the same number as against VfB Stuttgart). However, the Wolves lost the first duel of the season 1-2 and could now lose both Bundesliga games against the SGE for the first time in Bundesliga history.
Wolfsburg have been strong away from home this season. With 16 points from nine away games, VfL are having their best away season in years, only matched by the 2018/19 campaign. However, they have lost two of their last three away games – twice as many as in the first six games of the season (one defeat).
Their offensive power is particularly striking. Wolfsburg is in fourth place in the league with 42 goals, behind Bayern (58), Leverkusen (46) and Frankfurt (44). Ralph Hasenhüttl’s team is particularly dangerous in the second half, having already scored 24 times in the second half – only Bayern has scored more in this period (32 goals). In the final quarter of an hour, Wolfsburg is even top in the league with twelve goals (together with Bayern).
One of their particular strengths is set pieces: VfL have already scored eight goals from corners in this Bundesliga season – the best tally in the league. However, their defense is vulnerable when it comes to corners: nine goals conceded from corners is also the highest in the league.
Wolves without Wimmer
Jonas Wind is a key player. The Dane collected at least two goals in a game for the fifth time this Bundesliga season in the 2-2 draw against Holstein Kiel. Only Harry Kane (six times) and Omar Marmoush (eight times) surpassed this figure. However, Wind made four of these five strong appearances in his own stadium.
Wolfsburg will be without Patrick Wimmer in Frankfurt, who is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card. It’s a bitter loss for the visitors, as the Austrian has been directly involved in three goals in his last three Bundesliga appearances and has four assists this season – only Mohammed Amoura (six assists) has more for VfL.
Wolfsburg are also one of the youngest teams in the Bundesliga. The average age of their starting XI this season was 25 years and 127 days, the second youngest behind VfB Stuttgart.
Wolfsburg facts & analysis
- The club’s best Bundesliga away season
- Most goals in the league in the final quarter of an hour
- Eight goals already scored from corners
We expect Frankfurt to return to the 3-4-2-1 system under the direction of Dino Toppmöller. It will be interesting to see whether Frankfurt’s new signing Wahi will be directly involved in his first game.
We expect Wolfsburg to play in a 4-3-1-2 system again under Ralph Hasenhüttl. The Wolves will continue to try to improve their good record against the Eagles.
