If we take a closer look at the two teams in detail, the form of Frankfurt and Stuttgart really leaves a lot to be desired. The Frankfurt side only picked up two wins from their last five games and yet the SGE still finds itself in sixth place. The upcoming opponents from Stuttgart won only one of the last five games and in this period there were a whopping four defeats. Nevertheless, the Swabians are currently above the line. Frankfurt Form & Balance Check
Even though there was no win in the last three competitive matches, Eintracht from Frankfurt are playing another incredibly strong season. The team of coach Oliver Glasner wants to reach Europe again and the Hessians are currently on the best way to do so. Currently, the SGE is in sixth place with 39 points and the lead over Mainz, who are currently in seventh place, is four points. The last matchday saw a clash with the Lower Saxons from Wolfsburg, and the Eagles still managed to pick up a point with a 2-2 draw at VfL. With a view to the match against VfB Stuttgart, the home strength should be the key on Saturday. With 22 home points, the SGE are in seventh place in the table.
Kolo Muani is the life insurance
The Hessians from the Main know who they have to thank for this strong season. Kolo Muani arrived from Nantes on a free transfer last summer and the young Frenchman hit the ground running. With 23 goals (eleven goals and twelve assists), the French international is the Bundesliga’s top scorer. His achievements are also reflected in Eintracht’s figures. After 23 match days, the Hessians have 45 goals to their name, the same number as in the entire last season. If we look back at the last four home games, the Stadtwald is an absolute fortress. The SGE has won four home games in a row and has recently recorded three wins in a row
Frankfurt facts & analysis
– Last four home wins in a row.
– Currently in sixth place in the league
– Last 2:2 against Wolfsburg
Stuttgart form & balance check
The Swabians from Stuttgart are currently above the line, but that is only because of a two-goal better goal difference against TSG from Hoffenheim. If we look at the bare figures for the Swabians, then the results from the last few weeks and months look anything but promising. They have only won one of their last nine league games (3:0 at home against Cologne). The big problem for the Swabians this season is their offence. The 28 goals scored are one of the worst yields in the league. They have lost four of their last five games, including last weekend’s 1:2 against FC Bayern.
Suppliers of points away from home
It is and remains a mystery why the Swabians from Stuttgart are performing so badly on foreign grounds this season. Coach Bruno Labbadia’s team is the only team in the league that has yet to win an away game. VfB Stuttgart’s last away win dates back to 21 December 2021 and, in keeping with the team’s form, striker Silas Katompa Mvumpa is not in the best of form at the moment. The attacker has now gone ten games without scoring a goal.
Stuttgart facts & analysis
– Only 1 win from last 9 matches.
– Currently in 15th place
– Still without an away win
Predicted line-up – last update on 10 March 2023
The Frankfurt side will have to do without Lindström in the coming weeks. The Dane is out due to an ankle injury. In his place, Borre moves into the position next to Götze behind the only top Kolo Muani. Otherwise, we don’t expect any major changes from coach Oliver Glasner. As for the Swabians, there are no big surprises for the 2007 German champions either. Coach Labbadia will be happy about the return of Sosa, who was missing last time due to suspension. The back four that did a good job against Bayern will also play against Frankfurt. Silas will once again act as the only top player.
