Cologne Form & Balance Check
The Geißböcke remain an unpleasant opponent in the new season. After Steffen Baumgart most recently led the team from near-relegation to Conference League contenders in his debut season, a potential drop in performance has so far failed to materialise. The hosts even took the lead in this one through an own goal by Schmitz, but Maina at least saved Baumgart’s side a point with his late goal.

Dortmund form & balance check
Dortmund are playing a decent season so far under returnee Edin Terzic. On the one hand, the performances are still far from reaching their potential level, especially the offensive has remained below its potential due to numerous injuries. Defensively, however, the team has made a noticeable step forward. The new centre-back trio of Süle, Schlotterbeck and Hummels alternate and always bring a good mix of different qualities to the pitch. Dortmund also kept a clean sheet in their last league game against Schalke.
