The hosts from London have spent over 600 million euros on the transfer market and two coaches so far this season. Nevertheless, CFC are currently only eleventh in the league. On Sunday, Chelsea lost 2-0 at home to Aston Villa and subsequently suspended Graham Potter, who only took over the team in September last year.
Their opponents from Liverpool are also playing a desolate season. The Reds are only in eighth place in the league and are worried about a return to European football. The season so far has proved to be a real rollercoaster for Chelsea. After a mediocre start to the season in the league and a 0-1 defeat against Zagreb in the Champions League, coach Thomas Tuchel had to leave. But apart from a few coaches, the Blues currently have a lot of players on the payroll. Chelsea’s new owners made an impressive shopping spree this year. In the summer, several top players – Fofana, Cucurella, Koulibaly and Sterling – were signed for a large sum.
In the winter, they continued to invest in expensive new arrivals, including Enzo Fernández, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Benoît Badiashile and João Félix. In total, CFC spent over 600 million euros on transfers this season. Even though the offensive has picked up a bit recently, the team has only scored ten goals in 13 Premier League games so far this year. The many new players have not yet presented themselves as a homogeneous unit.

Liverpool Form & Balance Check
Liverpool’s team just can’t find each other this season. The Reds rarely manage to put in a good team performance. Currently, Jürgen Klopp’s team is in eighth place in the Premier League and already eight points behind Manchester United, who are currently in first place for Champions League qualification.
The Reds’ first game after the international break was also far from ideal at the weekend. LFC lost a clear 4-1 defeat against Manchester City. Liverpool will then face leaders Arsenal at the weekend. A win on Tuesday against Chelsea is therefore all the more important for the Reds.
Liverpool’s fall
In pre-season, Liverpool were in contention for the Premier League championship right up to the last matchday, narrowly missing out on the title at the end due to a strong comeback by Man City against Crystal Palace. This season, however, LFC seem to have forgotten a lot from last year. The Reds currently have 21 points less than last year. In the championship season, they had 37 points more at this point in the season.
The Reds’ problems occur both offensively and defensively. Liverpool conceded 13 more goals this season and scored 23 fewer than last year. If LFC do not improve significantly in the next few games, Jürgen Klopp faces a season without international football next year.

Chelsea last played in a 3-4-3 and whether interim coach Bruno Saltor prefers that system remains to be seen. However, given that he already worked as co-coach under Graham Potter, we think so. However, Thiago Silva, Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling will be out injured for the new coach’s debut.
The visitors from Liverpool will again start the game in a 4-3-3. On the left offensive side, Darwin Núñez will return to the starting eleven after recovering from injury. In midfield, coach Jürgen Klopp still has few options as Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago are still out.
