Only the two Manchester teams have picked up more points away from home. Chelsea have eight wins and four draws in 18 league games at Stamford Bridge this season. That makes them 4th in the home rankings.
Coach Thomas Tuchel had more than a good start to his tenure at Chelsea FC. The German coach led Chelsea to the top 4 of the Premier League table as well as the FA Cup final and the Champions League final.
Within a few days, however, the Blues have suffered two bitter setbacks. After the great 2-1 win at Manchester City on the penultimate matchday, Tuchel had changed his starting eleven against Arsenal in seven positions.
In the derby, the Blues then missed several good opportunities and left the pitch with a 0:1 defeat. After the game, the coach criticised his team.
They had not shown enough energy, hunger, concentration and the same attitude as usual. But the coach did not exempt himself from criticism either. Perhaps he had sent the wrong signals with the many changes.
One could speculate that Tuchel had already saved players for the upcoming cup final against the Gunners. But here, too, the team suffered a 1-0 defeat against Leicester on Saturday.
In a game that was controlled by the defensive lines on both sides, a dream goal for the Foxes from 25 metres made the difference. Thus Thomas Tuchel lost his first final match as Chelsea coach.
Once again, the Blues lacked composure and precision in front of the opponent’s goal. While the ex-PSG coach has stabilised the defence, there is a lack of goal-scoring in the offensive.
Now it is up to the Londoners to secure a place in the top four in the final league sprint before the Champions League final against Manchester City.
The Chelsea and Leicester clubs have met 119 times. The Blues lead the way with 57 wins. For the Foxes, that leaves 27 wins and 34 draws.
At Stamford Bridge, Leicester City have won only five of 59 visiting matches. However, the first leg at the King Power Stadium this season was won 2-0 by the home side.
The Foxes also won the FA Cup final on Saturday. If you only look at the league duels, the Londoners are without a win against Leicester for six games. However, the Foxes have not won both PL matches in a season against the Blues since the 2000/01 season.
