FC Chelsea – FC Everton
The English Premier League continues and the 33rd matchday is coming up this weekend. The championship battle is still incredibly tight, but there are also many teams in close contention behind them and the race for relegation and the European places is in full swing. The Blues host relegation candidates Everton on Monday evening to round off the matchday. Find out who has the better cards in our Chelsea – Everton betting tip.
The Londoners have had a messed-up matchday after failing to get past Sheffield United, who are bottom of the league, in a 2-2 draw. In a lively game in which Chelsea were actually the worse team for stretches, they managed to take the lead in the 66th minute and everything looked set for their second win in a row. However, Sheffield shocked the Blues in the 90th + 3rd minute and scored a deserved equalizer.
Everton secured a very important result last matchday. Against direct relegation rivals Burnley, they managed to take the lead in the first half at their own stadium. A red card for Burnley midway through the second half saw the Toffees take control of the game and secure the important three points.

Chelsea Form & Balance Check
Chelsea are lagging behind their own standards this season. However, they have managed to find their feet in recent weeks and have now gone seven games unbeaten. This run has seen them climb to ninth place and they are now just six points off sixth place, which could be enough to qualify for the Europa League this season. So it is still possible for Chelsea to turn what was initially a very poor season into a solid one
Good form
In terms of form in recent weeks, Chelsea have made significant gains. The Londoners are in fifth place in the form table for the last five and four games respectively and are right up there with two wins and two draws. They are unbeaten in seven games and will be looking to keep that streak alive at home against the relegation candidates
Chelsea facts & analysis
- Eight points from the last four games
- Unbeaten in seven games
- Ninth place in the table
Everton Form & Balance Check
Little has changed for Everton compared to last season, going from one relegation battle to the next. With nine wins, eight draws and 14 defeats, they are currently 15th in the table and just four points off a relegation place. The current legal dispute over whether they will be deducted a further two points for “financial irregularities” is still hanging over them and could end up being much more than a mere points loss for them
Horrible result in London
In the past, Chelsea have usually had a good laugh when the Toffees have traveled to them. The last away win for Everton at Stamford Bridge was in 1994, almost 30 years ago, or to put it more drastically: Everton’s last success in London was in the last millennium. 15 defeats and 13 draws, that’s the record of Premier League meetings in London, from Everton’s point of view
Everton facts & analysis
- 15th in the table
- Last game won
- Won first leg
Chelsea will line up in their usual 4-2-3-1, with manager Maurizio Pochettino unlikely to make any changes to his personnel compared to the last game. However, Mudryk, who had to sit out the last game, could once again be an option on the wing.
Sean Dyche and his team will once again start with the 4-4-1-1 formation, with Doucoure more likely to be seen as a hanging striker. The coach is still without Dele Alli (muscle injury), but they were able to make up for this absence in the last game. Nothing is likely to change in terms of personnel due to the result on the previous matchday
