Werder Bremen – VfL Wolfsburg
The international break is over and the 27th matchday in the Bundesliga is coming up on Saturday. The Wolves will host SV Werder Bremen at the Weser Stadium. Neither club has been really convincing in recent matches, with Bremen having been without a win for four matchdays and VfL for eleven. The precarious situation and the record negative streak at Wolfsburg also led to Niko Kovač being dismissed before the international break and Ralf Hasenhüttl being brought in for the final eight games of the season. Find out in our Bremen – Wolfsburg betting tip whether the Austrian can celebrate a perfect debut or whether Wolfsburg will continue their negative streak

Bremen Form & Balance Check
SV Werder Bremen will probably finish the season in mid-table. With 30 points, they are in 10th place in the table. In the last eight games, they will probably have nothing to do with relegation or the European Cup places, which also reflects the season on the Weser quite well. After all, the Whites have often had to contend with lean spells and have now gone four games without a win, three of which they have lost
Offensively too weak
One of Bremen’s sticking points is their offense, which is not particularly dangerous with 35 goals. In addition, SV are not exactly at their best at home and have lost as often as they have won (5). The 1-0 win against Bayern a few matchdays ago was brilliant, but the three-pointer should certainly be seen as a positive slip. Unfortunately, Ole Werner will be without Senne Lynen, Jens Stage and winger Mitchell Weiser, who are all suspended but were previously regulars
Bremen facts & analysis
- 10th place in the Bundesliga table
- bad offense with 35 goals
- not won in four games
Wolfsburg Form & Balance Check
After a never-ending slump, Niko Kovač was replaced by Ralf Hasenhüttl before the international break, as expected. VfL have been winless for eleven games and the resulting 14th place in the table was simply too much for those responsible. The expectations for the season were different with European business and the squad is actually too well positioned for the relegation battle
Negative record
VfL’s offense in particular is simply too weak with 31 goals over the entire season. With Hasenhüttl in charge, Wolfsburg will be hoping to find some stability in the final eight games and, above all, avoid slipping into the relegation places, which are currently just six points away. After all, VfL have not won more away games against any other team – apart from Frankfurt – than against Bremen (11). However, it remains to be seen whether they will continue the trend, as Werder have been unbeaten against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga since their promotion in 2022.
Wolfsburg facts & analysis
- Negative record with eleven games without a win
- 14th place in the Bundesliga table
- 31 goals scored
