Find out which fanbase can celebrate a pleasing end to the weekend in our Bremen – Hoffenheim tip.
Bremen have played a very solid season so far as a promoted team. The North Germans are currently in eleventh place in the table and will probably have nothing to do with relegation this season. However, SVW has now gone three games without a win in the Bundesliga. On the last matchday, however, Bremen earned a solid 2:2 at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The position of their opponents from Hoffenheim is completely different. TSG is deep in the relegation battle. At least the Kraichgauer stopped the never-ending negative streak before the international break. After 14 games without a win, Hoffenheim won 3:1 against their direct rivals from Berlin.

Bremen Form & Balance Check
Werder Bremen returned to the highest division after a year in the 2. Bundesliga and play there with a handsome offensive football that thrills the fans. The team is currently in eleventh place in the table. Bremen is currently in a safe midfield position with 31 points and is already ten points ahead of the relegation places.
However, Ole Werner’s team went the last three games in the Bundesliga without a win. Before the international break, however, Bremen, who were short of players, managed an important 2-2 draw in Mönchengladbach.
Dynamic forward duo
Werder Bremen are showing a very goal-happy side this season. With 39 goals already scored in the first 25 games, the team from the Weser is well-positioned in the league. A particular highlight in the offensive is Niclas Füllkrug, who still leads the Bundesliga scoring charts with 15 goals. The 30-year-old also scored three times for the national team during the international break.
But his strike partner Marvin Ducksch has also really arrived in the Bundesliga in the meantime. The 29-year-old scored an outstanding 20 times for the North Germans in the last second division season and set up ten further goals. This season, the Bremen number 7 has contributed eight goals and six assists. Three of the eight goals were scored by Ducksch in the last two games.
Bremen facts & analysis
– Currently eleventh in the Bundesliga table.
– Only four draws this season
– Ducksch and Füllkrug involved in 69% of all Werder goals
Hoffenheim form & balance check
Coach André Breitenreiter led TSG 1899 Hoffenheim into the season with great promise. After eight matchdays, the Kraichgauer occupied fourth place in the table and only suffered two defeats. However, this was followed by a clear downward trend. Hoffenheim waited 14 games for a success in the league.
After Breitenreiter’s dismissal, Pellegrino Matarazzo took over as coach, but the hoped-for success failed to materialise. TSG slipped to 18th place in the table. On the last matchday, however, they finally managed a victory. Hoffenheim defeated Hertha 3:1 at home and moved up to 15th place in the table.
Too many mistakes
The defensive performance of 1899 Hoffenheim currently leaves a lot to be desired. In the current season, TSG have already conceded 45 goals – a figure that is only surpassed by three other teams in the Bundesliga. This year in particular, things have gone badly for the Kraichgauer defensively, as they have already conceded 23 goals in ten games.
The TSG is also not approaching its actual capabilities on the offensive. In the pre-season, Hoffenheim scored 15 times more at the same time. At least top scorer Andrej Kramaric returned to the scoresheet on the last matchday. The Croatian had previously gone seven games in a row without scoring in the league.
Hoffenheim facts & analysis
– Only five points from the last 15 games.
– Already eight away defeats
– One point off a relegation spot
Predicted line-up – last update on 1 April 2023
After several players were unavailable for SV Werder against Gladbach, Bremen will only have to do without the injured Felix Agu against Hoffenheim. The North Germans will again operate in a 3-5-2. Füllkrug and Ducksch will once again team up in the forward line on Sunday.
Hoffenheim coach Pellegrino Matarazzo has no reason to shake up his team. Hoffenheim will therefore probably start with the same eleven as in the 3:1 victory against Hertha. Munas Dabbur, however, will miss out after his red card at the weekend.
