Bayern Munich – TSG Hoffenheim
The Bundesliga starts into the 28th matchday this weekend. Already on Friday the important relegation duel between the Knappen and Hertha BSC is on the agenda (Go to Schalke – Hertha tip). One day later, another cellar child travels to Munich for an unequal duel. The 14th-placed Kraichgauer will then play the record champions. Find out who will secure the three points in this encounter in our Bayern – Hoffenheim tip.
There has been a lot of unrest at Säbener Straße in recent weeks. FC Bayern sacked its coach Julian Nagelsmann and brought in Thomas Tuchel. The league win against BVB was followed by a DFB Cup exit against Freiburg and on Tuesday a heavy 3-0 defeat at Manchester City in the Champions League. In addition, Sadio Mané and Leroy Sané made additional headlines after the game with a fisticuffs conflict – there is no other way to describe it at Bayern.
The opponents from Hoffenheim, on the other hand, have nothing to do with European business this season. The Kraichgauer are deep in the relegation battle and therefore need every point. However, after an extremely long dry spell, TSG recently picked up three wins in a row in the league. Last weekend, Hoffenheim won the important relegation duel against Schalke with 2:0.

Bayern Form & Balance Check
FC Bayern’s decision to sack coach Julian Nagelsmann came as a surprise as the club were still winning all their titles at the time. However, things did not go as expected in the league. Therefore, Thomas Tuchel was hired as the new coach.
Tuchel’s first game as Bayern coach against Dortmund ended in a commanding 4:2 victory, which brought back the league lead. But in the quarter-finals of the cup, Tuchel directly took a defeat, so that now only two titles are possible. But after Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat to Man City in the Champions League, the second title this season also seems to be all but gone.
Hollywood FC are back
In the 1990s, FC Bayern already dominated the Bundesliga and won four championships in that decade. At that time, however, there was often unrest in the club. For this reason, the nickname FC Hollywood developed for the club from Säbener Straße.
In the last few years, however, this name faded away as the FCB lonely ran its circles at the top of the Bundesliga table and did not create many headlines. After the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann, however, the nickname increasingly flared up again. Now it has also come to light that star newcomer Sadio Mané punched his team-mate Leroy Sané in the face after the defeat in the top flight against City. So it seems Hollywood has finally returned to the FCB.

Hoffenheim form & balance check
Coach André Breitenreiter had a promising start to the season with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. After eight matchdays, the team was in fourth place in the table and only suffered two defeats. However, this was followed by a clear downward trend. Hoffenheim went 14 games without a win in the league.
After Breitenreiter’s dismissal, Pellegrino Matarazzo took over as coach, but the hoped-for success failed to materialise for the time being and TSG slipped to 18th place in the table. A 3:1 home win against Hertha brought relief. TSG have now won three games in a row. Last Sunday, the Kraichgauer also beat their direct rivals Schalke 04 2-0 and thus climbed to 14th place.
Old hands
During the winter break, Hoffenheim signed John Anthony Brooks, Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg, three hopefuls in the relegation battle. However, in the meantime only Brooks is on the pitch most of the time. The other two additions play no role in the plans of new coach Matarazzo.
The former Stuttgart coach relies on the long-established players, who also have a big influence in the dressing room. Especially central defender Kevin Vogt, who has played for TSG since 2016, is essential for the team structure. Andrej Kramaric also looked like a changed man. The Croatian scored three goals in the last three Bundesliga matches after a long dry spell.

Predicted line-up – last update on 13 April 2023
Bayern are again expected to play in a 4-2-3-1 on Saturday, with the record champions featuring a host of dribble-heavy players on the offensive. Sadio Mané was suspended after his punch against Leroy Sané and will not be in the squad against Hoffenheim. Upamecano, on the other hand, is expected to be back in the starting eleven this weekend, despite his poor performance against City.
TSG will again go into the game in a 3-5-2. The defensive trio of Brooks, Vogt and Akpoguma is well-rehearsed and has looked much more stable recently. The winter additions Thomas Delaney and Kasper Dolberg, on the other hand, play no role for coach Pellegrino Matarazzo. Grischa Prömel could return to the squad after his injury against Bayern.
