Bayern’s coach already knows the upcoming opponent quite well. Thomas Tuchel has roots near Augsburg and was born not far from the Fuggerstadt. In addition, the 49-year-old has left his mark both as a player and as a coach at FCA. His counterpart Enrico Maaßen, on the other hand, spent two years with the second team of Munich rivals Borussia Dortmund.
Augsburg fans saw a real spectacle at the start of the new Bundesliga season. A total of eight goals were scored at home against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Nevertheless, there was no winner in the end and the game ended in a 4:4 draw. And Bayern also conceded four goals to their opponents from Bremen at the start of the season. However, the defense of the record champion stood much more stable than that of FCA and thus Bayern won the game at the Weserstadion with 4:0.

Bayern form & balance check
The past season at FCB did not go smoothly under the management of both Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel. In the DFB Cup, Bayern suffered a defeat as early as the quarterfinals, and the Munich side also failed to keep pace in the Champions League against Manchester City. FC Bayern’s midfield had its problems in the previous season. The duo of Kimmich and Goretzka showed their weaknesses not only at Bayern in the Bundesliga, but also in the German national team. The new man Konrad Laimer should actually take over the defensive tasks in midfield in the coming season.
The 26-year-old Austrian transferred free of charge from league rivals Leipzig and brings with him an experience of 131 Bundesliga games. However, coach Thomas Tuchel long sought another central midfielder in this transfer period, who focuses more on defensive duties. However, this player will now no longer be available. In the opening game in Bremen, however, Kimmich and Goretzka again played in the midfield center. Who will establish himself there in the course of the season remains to be seen.

Augsburg form & balance check
Augsburg FC are facing a challenging season. The Fuggerstädter narrowly avoided relegation last season and finished the season in 15th place. Coach Enrico Maaßen is now entering his second season at FCA and must get his team back on track after a poor end to the season in which FCA won only one of its last eleven league games.

Augsburg did not record a win in the last 13 Bundesliga away games. This marks the end of the previous negative club record in the German top flight. Last season, FCA picked up a total of just twelve points on foreign soil.
Despite traditional difficulties for FCA at the Allianz Arena, however, there is a spark of hope for Augsburg supporters. FC Bayern has scored at least one goal in 115 of its last 116 Bundesliga games. The only time it didn’t was last year, when FCA went against the run of play in a 1-0 win on Matchday 7.

The Bavarians will again start in a 4-2-3-1. On the double six will probably act again Kimmich and Goretzka. Otherwise, we expect almost no starting eleven changes at FCB. Musiala, however, is missing the record champion injured.
Augsburg will again rely on a 4-4-2. Winther could move into the starting eleven for the somewhat indisposed Uduokhai at FCA. Gumny and Pfeiffer will continue to be missing due to suspensions.
