Our Augsburg – Stuttgart betting tip is: Stuttgart win – 1.85 odds

- Augsburg have lost three games in a row recently
- Stuttgart have won three of their last four head-to-head matches
The Bundesliga final is just around the corner, and on this penultimate matchday, everything is still at stake in the battle for Europe and in the relegation zone. FC Augsburg and VfB Stuttgart open the matchday on Friday evening. Find out who will win this clash and who you should bet on in our Augsburg – Stuttgart betting tip.
Last weekend, Augsburg were beaten 5-1 by Borussia Dortmund, even though BVB played with a B-team. FCA want to climb to seventh place in the table and secure their place in the Conference League. However, they need points to do so, and their final two opponents of the season are two heavyweights in Stuttgart and Leverkusen.
Stuttgart, on the other hand, can take a relaxed approach to their final games. They have already secured their place in the Champions League, but are still eyeing the runners-up spot. They defeated Bayern last weekend and could still overtake the Munich side in the end with a little help

Augsburg Form & Balance Check
Augsburg find themselves in a crisis at the end of the season after a great phase in March in which they played themselves into the conversation for European Cup qualification. The latest defeat against BVB extends their negative streak to three consecutive defeats and they have only won one of their last six games. FCA currently have 39 points in the table, which puts them in ninth place.
The coveted 7th place is only two points away, but coach Jess Thorup’s team would have to beat Stuttgart or Leverkusen to have a mathematical chance. A defeat this weekend and a win for Freiburg would put an end to the dream of Europe
Defensive sleepy
In the last three games, Augsburg’s defensive work has been particularly disappointing. With eleven goals conceded in these games, the team not only failed to benefit from the slip-ups of Freiburg and Hoffenheim, but also worsened the goal difference to minus eight and thus lost the advantage over TSG.
With a total of 57 goals conceded, they are the fifth-worst defensive team in the league and have conceded more goals than relegation candidates Cologne, Mainz and Union Berlin. In order to qualify for Europe, coach Thorup will have to hope that the defense has two great days against Stuttgart and Leverkusen, as both opponents are among the strongest offensively in the league
Augsburg facts & analysis
- ninth place in the table
- Last game lost
- Only one win from the last six games
Stuttgart Form & Balance Check
VfB will crown their great season by qualifying for the Champions League. Last weekend, the team sent the record champions from Munich home with a 3:1 win and thus remain unbeaten against the other clubs in the top five in the second half of the season.
Apart from the 2:1 defeat against Bremen three matchdays ago, the Swabians have not lost in the Bundesliga since January. With 67 points, they are third in the table, two points behind second place and a remarkable 22-point lead over a non-Champions League place.
Rumors of strike duo departure as mood killer?
There is no doubt that Stuttgart’s success is due in part to their two star strikers Serhou Guirassy and Deniz Undav. Guirassy in particular has been repeatedly linked with Europe’s top clubs since the winter break due to his strong record of 27 goals in 28 games. A relatively low exit clause of 20 million euros could make it difficult for the Guinean to stay.
His congenial partner Undav is only on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the season, but with an option to buy from Stuttgart. Even if the Swabians can go into the final games without pressure, they still want to finish runners-up and the current transfer rumors of their striker duo seem to be dampening the celebratory mood in Stuttgart a little.
Stuttgart facts & analysis
- Third place in the table
- Last game won
- Only one defeat from the last twelve competitive matches
As in Dortmund against VfB, Augsburg could play with a back three, which becomes a back five at the back. In midfield, the recently suspended Kristijan Jakić returns to the starting line-up for Tim Breithaupt. Otherwise, we expect few changes to the starting eleven. Should coach Thorup want to bring in a breath of fresh air, Arne Engels and Niklas Dorsch are available.
Stuttgart will line up in a classic 4-4-2 system. Maximilian Mittelstädt, who was suspended against Bayern, returns to the starting eleven at full-back. In attack, we expect Guirassy and Undav to be the star players from the start. Enzo Millot, who was also suspended recently, could have lost his starting place to Angelo Stiller
