Aston Villa Form & Balance Check
Aston Villa started the season with a win. West Ham United were a tough opponent to start with, but Villa managed to come out on top in a hard-fought game. The 20-year-old talented striker Jhon Duran from the club’s own talent pool scored after coming on as a substitute to make the final score 2:1 and secure his team an important three-pointer to kick off the season.
The Villans’ preparation was mixed, with four defeats from seven games. This included a 2-0 defeat in the final test against BVB.
New signing best player
In the summer, Aston Villa secured the services of midfielder Amadou Onana. The 23-year-old Belgian joined from league rivals Everton FC, where he has been an absolute regular for the past two seasons. In his first competitive game for Villa, he was immediately the best man on the pitch. Onana was strong in the tackle, had good passing ability and scored to give Villa a 1-0 lead. He is the difficult successor to Douglas Luiz, who moved to Juventus in the summer, but seems up to the task and is a strong addition to coach Unai Emery’s squad.

Arsenal Form & Balance Check
Arsenal played a great season and were in the race for the title right to the end. Nevertheless, it will be a difficult task to repeat this performance, as the competition is fierce. Wolverhampton Wanderers were the visitors to the Emirates Stadium last weekend.
The Gunners were the dominant team, conceded very little and ran out deserved 2-0 winners in the end. The Londoners can also be satisfied with their pre-season preparations. They picked up three wins from four test matches, including a clear 4:1 victory over German champions Bayer Leverkusen at the start of the month.
Havertz-Saka duo still on fire
The Gunners also have their attacking duo of Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka to thank for their 2-0 opening win. First Saka set up Havertz for the 1:0 lead in the 25th minute, then the German international returned the favor in the 2nd half, providing the assist for Saka’s goal to make it 2:0.
The pair continued their strong performances of the previous season, in which they were directly involved in almost half of the 91 goals scored by the Londoners. They will of course be keen to add to their tally against Villa and are eager for the clash
Arsenal facts & analysis
- Last game won
- Second place in the table
- Goal ratio of 8:1 from the last three games (including test matches)
Aston Villa play in a 4-2-3-1 system. Coach Emery has little reason to make any major changes to the starting line-up after the opening win. Alongside new signing Onana, Youri Tielemans will play in the center. Leon Bailey and John McGinn will cause a stir on the wings. We expect Ollie Watkins to play up front again, although Duran would also be a candidate for the first eleven.
Arsenal will play in a classic 4-4-2 system. The central defense around William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães is set, as is the offense with Saka and Havertz. Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus are available from the bench as wild cards for the attack
