Arsenal FC – Everton FC
The players in the Bundesliga can take it a bit more relaxed this week for once, because they don’t have a game scheduled during the week. In the Premier League, however, things are a little different. On Wednesday, two catch-up games will take place in England’s top flight. At 20:45, the league leaders from North London will host the relegation candidates from Merseyside. Find out who will win this important clash in our Arsenal vs Everton betting tips.
Arsenal have stumbled a little in the league recently. The Gunners won only two of their last five Premier League games. At the weekend, however, the team of coach Mikel Arteta achieved an important success. The Gunners won the away game in Leicester with 1-0. Arsenal are therefore still on top of the table and have a two-point lead over Man City before Wednesday’s game.
Everton, on the other hand, are currently stumbling towards their first relegation from the Premier League. The Toffees are currently 18th in the Premier League and lost their first home game under new manager Sean Dyche at the weekend after two home wins in a row. Everton were beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa.

Arsenal Form & Balance Check
The 2015/2016 season was the last time Arsenal qualified for the Champions League. This season, however, there is much more in store for the Gunners. The north London side are currently top of the Premier League and would close the gap on second-placed Man City to five points with a win over Everton.
However, the Gunners have stumbled a little in recent weeks. Mikel Arteta’s side have won only two of their last five Premier League games. Especially the home defeat against Man City a fortnight ago hurt the north Londoners a lot. At the weekend, however, Arsenal won 1-0 at Leicester City.
Youth to Power
The average age of Arsenal’s team so far this year in the Premier League has been just 24.2. This gave Arsenal the youngest team in the entire league. Some of the key players, including William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, are just 21 years old. Over the last few years, Arsenal have built a young squad that is now putting in consistently strong performances.
Martin Ødegaard, the team’s captain, is also only 24 years old and the Gunners’ third-leading scorer with eight goals. He is now living up to the expectations many football fans had after his move to Real Madrid eight years ago. But to bring more experience into the team, Arsenal signed Leandro Trossard (28 years old) and Jorginho (31 years old) in the winter.
Arsenal facts & analysis
– Top of the Premier League table.
– Second best offence and defence in the league
– Only one home defeat in the league this season
Everton Form & Balance Check
For about a year, Frank Lampard was coach of the Toffees. Last year, the former England international saved the Liverpool club from relegation in dramatic fashion. However, Lampard was dismissed at the end of January after a 2-0 defeat at West Ham United. Everton were 19th in the table at the time and had failed to win eight consecutive games in the league.
His successor at the Toffees is Sean Dyche. The Englishman had been coach at Burnley for many years. The 51-year-old won the first two home games, including against Arsenal, directly with his new team. At the weekend, however, Everton lost 2-0 to Aston Villa at home to Goodison Park, leaving the Toffees in 18th place in the Premier League with 21 points.
Desolate attack
Everton are putting in a pretty solid defensive performance this season, conceding just 32 goals in 24 games. However, things are not going so well in attack for the Liverpool team. With a meagre 17 goals this season, Everton have the worst record in the Premier League. By comparison, Erling Haaland alone has scored ten more goals than the entire Everton team this Premier League season.
Coach Sean Dyche recognised this and is therefore focusing on a solid defence. The two wins under his stewardship were 1-0 victories accordingly. With Tarkowski and Coleman, two defenders scored the goals for Everton in these two games. Solid defensive work will also be the focus for the Toffees against Arsenal.
Everton facts & analysis
– 18th on the table with 21 points.
– Only one away win this season
– Weakest offense in the league
Predicted lineup – last update on February 27, 2023
Coach Mikel Arteta will send his team into the match with a 4-3-3. Thomas Partey will probably not be able to play from the start again. He will be replaced by winter newcomer Jorginho. Eddie Nketiah is expected back up front for the Gunners. Gabrel Jesus and Mohamed Elneny are missing Arsenal through injury.
A month ago, the 4-5-1 was Everton’s winning system against the Gunners. On Wednesday we expect the Toffees to be in that basic order again. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, however, is expected to miss Everton through injury against Arsenal as well. Otherwise, we expect the same starting eleven as in the 1-0 win in early February.
