Our Dortmund – Bremen prediction is: Both teams to score & over 3.5 goals – 2.50 odds

- In nine Dortmund home games, 33 goals were scored, and in nine Werder away games, 35 goals were scored
On Saturday at noon, the Bundesliga clash between Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen awaits us at the Signal-Iduna-Park. In the table, this means a neighborhood duel – while BVB is in tenth place with 25 points, Bremen is in ninth place with one point more.
Dortmund have parted ways with coach Nuri Sahin in response to their recent results. After four consecutive defeats, including a 2-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt and a 2-1 loss to Bologna in the Champions League during the week, BVB pulled the plug. U19 coach Mike Tullberg is the new man on the sidelines. You can find out whether he will get a win on his debut in our Dortmund v Bremen betting tip.
Bremen, on the other hand, have not won in three league games for the first time this season and are experiencing their first minor crisis. Most recently, they suffered a 2-0 defeat against FC Augsburg. They also lost away from home recently, with SVW losing 4-2 in Leipzig.

Dortmund Form & record Check
Borussia Dortmund have only lost one of their last twelve Bundesliga duels against Werder Bremen (seven wins, four draws) and are currently unbeaten in four meetings with the Bremen team (three wins, one draw). Nevertheless, Werder Bremen managed a remarkable 0-0 draw in the most recent meeting in August 2024.
After the winter break, Dortmund went on a historic losing streak: for the first time in the club’s Bundesliga history, they lost their first three games after the winter break. The last time there was such a series of defeats was in October/November 2017, also with three defeats in a row. If Dortmund now also lose against Bremen, it would be the first time since 2014 under Jürgen Klopp that they have lost four Bundesliga games in a row (then five).
Defensive continues to be vulnerable
The defense is also a weak point: 31 goals conceded in 18 games is the worst record since 2007/08, when BVB conceded as many as 33. In the past 16 games, they have only managed one clean sheet (4-0 against Freiburg), which means that Dortmund shares the league record for the fewest clean sheets in this period. Particularly striking: BVB conceded seven of the nine goals it has conceded in 2025 in the first half – the highest number in the league.
Their home form has also suffered. After the 3-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in their last home game, Dortmund have not won in three consecutive home games for the first time since 2020 (two draws, one defeat)
Dortmund Facts & Analysis
- Three consecutive defeats
- Without a win in three Bundesliga home games
- Worst defensive record since 2007/2008
Bremen Form & record check
Werder Bremen can be quite satisfied with the Bundesliga season so far, even if there has been a small crisis in results recently. With 26 points after 18 games, Bremen are playing their best season since 2011/12, when they had collected 30 points at the same point in the season. Despite this positive record, SV Werder have not won in three consecutive league games for the first time in the current season.
Bremen have been particularly strong away from home, with 16 points from their first nine away games, putting them third in the league behind Bayern Munich (20) and Bayer Leverkusen (18). They last achieved such a haul away from home in the 2009/10 season (also 16 points). Bremen have also been convincing in offense: eight of the goals scored so far have been scored by header – the same as Borussia Mönchengladbach.
In defense, however, there is a weakness similar to that of their upcoming opponents Dortmund: with nine goals conceded in the first three Bundesliga games of 2025, Bremen are level with BVB.
Will Werder keep a clean sheet again?
However, Ole Werner’s team conceded five goals in the first half of the 2025 league games so far – also a high number, but behind Dortmund’s seven. Bremen also showed defensive progress: in the 0-0 draw against Dortmund on matchday two – which ended a run of 24 Bundesliga duels without a white vest against BVB – Bremen last managed such a streak in 2004 with two games in a row.
Werder will try to build on their good away record against Dortmund and remain stable defensively. Bremen can be particularly dangerous in the air, while the defense continues to struggle for consistency.
Bremen facts & analysis
- Best season since 2011/12
- First time without a win in three games
- Third-best away team
It is still uncertain how Dortmund will perform under the new interim coach Mike Tullberg. We expect them to line up in a back three, as they did last time, although the personnel is still completely open.
Bremen will line up again in a 3-5-2 system under coach Ole Werner. The Bremen team will try to play a good game again, as they did in the first leg.
