In the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers are losing more and more ground. They need to win against the Houston Rockets before the end of the year to avoid falling further behind – even if it won’t be easy.
The Californians have a lot of players out at the moment, but LeBron James always seems to be the one to rely on. According to my Rockets Lakers tip, “The King” will even be able to conjure up the most points on the table again…
The Lakers are in for another difficult season. Two years ago, the yellow violets were still on the NBA throne, but now it looks completely different in the Western Conference – and it will get even worse.
It is now certain that Anthony Davis, the second pillar of the Californians’ game, will have to rest for at least four more weeks. Los Angeles has already seen no more land since his absence a few days ago.
The Lakers have now lost five NBA games in a row. Most recently, they even suffered a 115-122 defeat against the equally weakened Brooklyn Nets, who again started without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
To cut to the chase: I wouldn’t put my hand in the fire that we’ll see the 2019 NBA champions again in the playoffs – especially given Anthony Davis’ lengthy injury stint.
But there is still one bright spot with the Californians – on which, by the way, my Rockets Lakers tip is also based! His name is LeBron James and he is the only constant far and wide in the Lakers’ game!
The Nets defence has not been able to find a way to block the NBA legend’s routes to the basket. 39 points, 9 points, 7 assists and 3 steals are a real house number and worthy of two new records at the same time!
LeBron James has become the NBA player who has scored the most points on Christmas days with this performance against the Nets. With 422 points now, he replaces former teammate Kobe Bryant (395).
But another set record, this time a personal one, is of even greater interest for my tip: In his last appearance, The King celebrated his twelfth game of the season in which the 30-point mark was broken.
The title – and possibly even the playoffs – won’t happen again this year. But in the upcoming game against the Rockets, James should be given the perfect stage to play his opponent dizzy again.
The Rockets have lost five of their last six NBA games, with their only win coming over the worst franchise in the Eastern Conference, the Detroit Pistons!
In addition, the Texans have never been convincing in duels against the Lakers. After all, they lost in each of the last nine direct NBA encounters. LeBron James was usually the driving force behind the Californians’ victories.
In the last meeting with the Rockets in November, The King once again cracked the 30-point mark and was also the best player of the game.
However, Los Angeles only won 119-117 in the end, which underlines once again why I trust James to put in a top performance tomorrow rather than the Lakers to win!

The Rockets, on the other hand, are also looking bleak as the Texans have lost five of their last six NBA games, only beating Detroit. They have also lost to the Californians in each of their last nine head-to-head meetings.
Personally, I expect LeBron James to break the 30-point barrier again tonight – as he did in the last game against Houston.
