Tennis Today – Matches on Oct. 11
I’ve picked out what I consider to be the most promising tennis bets of the day from Germany’s top bookmakers, such as bet365.
My tennis tips for today once again include six selected matches from the ATP tournament in Shanghai, which will be played overnight and in the early hours of the following day.
Tennis Tips Today – October 11, 2026: Who Will Win in Shanghai?
You can also find these six selected matches—which make up my tennis picks for today—in the portfolio of the relatively new but solidly established bookmaker DAZN Bet.
I’m optimistic that the favorites won’t be upset, as both Alcaraz and Medvedev should be able to handle their respective matches.
Shanghai Picks Today, Oct. 11: Tien – Ruud (6:00 a.m.)
Ruud is an experienced top player, but he has traditionally shown greater vulnerability on fast hard courts—as opposed to clay—against extremely versatile and ball-secure left-handers.
Tien has established himself in the Top 20 and impresses on hard courts with outstanding return percentages and excellent footwork.
The tactical focus is on the pace of play: Ruud tries to build pressure with his forehand but gets into trouble with quick changes of direction and deep shots.
Since Tien makes very few errors in the midcourt and consistently takes the initiative on his opponent’s second serve, the match will swing in favor of the young player, who is in top form.
My pick: Tien’s playing style doesn’t suit Ruud!
Shanghai betting today: Lehecka – Jodar (7:10 a.m.)
In their head-to-head record, Rafael Jódar leads 1–0 after knocking Jiri Lehecka out of the tournament in straight sets (6–3, 6–3) on hard court at the Montreal Masters in August.
The young Spaniard plays with extreme aggression on fast surfaces and demonstrated absolute maturity during that round-of-16 upset with a strong first-serve percentage (86% points won).
Although Lehecka possesses massive groundstrokes and high offensive power, he struggled immensely in their first matchup to break down Jódar’s varied and error-resistant return game.
Since Jódar has been performing consistently at the top level in 2026 and Lehecka will face constant pressure on his opponent’s second serve, the match dynamics once again favor the Spaniard, who is in top form.
My pick: Jódar advances quite comfortably!
Shanghai Picks Today: Tsitsipas – Fritz (7:10 a.m.)
In their head-to-head matchups on hard courts, Taylor Fritz holds a slight edge over Stefanos Tsitsipas. The American traditionally excels on fast surfaces with an incredibly powerful first serve and high consistency in baseline rallies.
The key lies in Fritz’s consistent first-serve point-winning percentage and his less vulnerable backhand compared to the Greek player. Tsitsipas comes under enormous pressure on his own serve as soon as Fritz takes the initiative in the rally.
My pick: A high-level match!
Shanghai Prediction Today: Medvedev – Svrcina (8:20 a.m.)
In head-to-head matchups, Daniil Medvedev leads Dalibor Svrcina 2–0—including a straight-sets victory in the second round of last year’s Shanghai Masters (6–1, 6–1) and a win in Toronto.
Although the Czech qualifier has impressively fought his way into the third round, he will reach his physical limits on the fast hard courts in Shanghai against the former tournament champion.
Medvedev has been impressive on this surface with his usual consistency and served strongly in his last match against Jan-Lennard Struff. Although Svrcina plays a varied game, he regularly loses control in the long baseline rallies against Medvedev’s ultra-deep defensive blocks.
My pick: Medvedev is a favorite to win the title!
Shanghai betting today, Oct. 11: Bergs – Alcaraz (7:10 a.m.)
In their head-to-head record, Carlos Alcaraz leads Zizou Bergs 1–0—the Spaniard prevailed in two sets at last year’s hard-court tournament in Tokyo.
Although Bergs plays a varied game and impressed in his Shanghai opener with a solid performance against Ignacio Buse, he’ll clearly be up against his limits against the No. 2-seeded top star.
Alcaraz dictates the pace on fast hard courts thanks to his explosive dynamism, outstanding defensive coverage, and high efficiency on his opponent’s second serve.
Since Bergs makes too many errors on his service games under the constant pressure of Alcaraz’s powerful groundstrokes, the favorite will ultimately prevail.
My pick: The Belgian lacks the quality to beat Alcaraz!
Shanghai, Oct. 11: Paul – Vacherot (1:30 p.m.)
Tommy Paul and Valentin Vacherot will face off for the first time on the ATP Tour in the third round of the Shanghai Masters.
The 15th-seeded American delivered a solid performance in his opening match against Adolfo Daniel Vallejo, while defending champion Vacherot prevailed in a hard-fought match against Sebastián Báez thanks to 15 aces and consistent service games.
Vacherot is extremely dangerous on the fast hard courts in Shanghai thanks to his height and his incredibly powerful first serve, as evidenced by his recent statistics on points won on first serve (over 83%).
Paul, however, counters with excellent court coverage, high return accuracy, and tremendous variety.
Since Vacherot becomes more vulnerable in longer rallies and Paul’s return quality disrupts the Monegasque’s rhythm, the American’s experience will prevail in close sets.
My prediction: Paul will prevail!
