French Open Today – Matches on June 1
Today’s French Open matches are shaping up to be something of an Italian championship. Even though Jannik Sinner was eliminated from the tournament long ago, three of today’s four matches feature his compatriots.
To go along with this, I’m sharing my own insights with you in the form of tennis betting suggestions. I’ve also taken a look at the women’s tournament and found a match between Sabalenka and Osaka that I’d like to bet on with a verified bookmaker.

Actually, everyone wants to watch the French Open today! Because Zverev reached the quarterfinals yesterday, and the chances of celebrating the first German Grand Slam winner in men’s singles since Boris Becker in 1996 are rising dramatically with each passing day!
For my part, I have four French Open bets lined up for the four remaining men’s round-of-16 matches, but I’ve also taken a look at the women’s draw. After all, Sabalenka vs. Osaka is a blockbuster matchup with a clear outcome in all likelihood!

French Open today, June 1: Cobolli – Svajda
Cobolli is currently putting on an absolute display of efficiency on the red clay. He hasn’t dropped a single set throughout the entire tournament and impresses with an extremely low error rate on his own break points.
As a classic American hard-court specialist, Svajda is completely out of his element in the second week of the French Open. His flat groundstrokes lose all their power on clay. On top of that, he’s already played over 11 hours and is physically on his last legs.
My expert tip: The Italian will pull off his forehand again
French Open today, June 1: Cerundolo JM – Berrettini
Both players are coming off historic marathon matches in the third round: Berrettini defeated Comesana in 5 hours and 13 minutes, while Cerundolo survived the third-longest match in tournament history against Landaluce, lasting 5 hours and 57 minutes.
A straight-sets victory is completely unrealistic here. Cerundolo’s brutal tenacity on clay and his left-handed spins will immediately force Berrettini—who is physically extremely vulnerable following his abdominal injuries—into long rallies and take at least one set from him.
My expert tip: Neither player will be at 100%
French Open today, June 1: Auger-Aliassime vs. Tabilo
Auger-Aliassime has discovered his true fighting spirit in this tournament. Against Altmaier, as well as against Burruchaga and Nakashima, he had to come back from set deficits, but shone with mental strength in the crucial moments and fired off 15 aces in the end.
Tabilo is a tricky left-hander, but benefited from a walkover in Round 2 and promptly lost his rhythm and a set against qualifier Kouame. The Canadian should therefore quickly take control with his powerful first serve.
My expert tip: Tabilo is no match for the Canadian
French Open today, June 1: Tiafoe – Arnaldi
Tiafoe’s flat, rhythmic hard-court tennis loses a lot of its effectiveness on the slow Parisian clay, forcing him to make a high number of errors as the match drags on.
Arnaldi, on the other hand, brings exactly the kind of aggressive clay-court game needed to take the wind out of Tiafoe’s sails. His relentless footwork and extreme forehand topspins will constantly keep the tired American on the move and wear him down.
My expert tip: Arnaldi is on a roll again
French Open today, June 1: Sabalenka – Osaka
This round of 16 match is the absolute blockbuster of the women’s first night session in three years. By advancing to the second week, Osaka is celebrating her best-ever clay-court performance, though the road there has taken a massive toll.
In the third round alone, she had to battle for over three hours against top talent Iva Jovic and has already survived three grueling tiebreaks in the tournament so far.
Sabalenka has also won both of her matches against Osaka this season and brings significantly greater consistency and physicality to the red clay.
