Wimbledon in London, Final, Saturday, 12.07.2025, 17:00

Iga Swiatek is on the verge of her first Wimbledon triumph. The five-time Grand Slam winner plowed through the last few rounds and will now face Amanda Anisimova in the final, who defeated none other than Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals.

Can she now beat the next mega star and win her first major title? I dare to doubt it; I don’t even think she can win a set against the high-flyer. Accordingly, I have opted for a straight 2-0 victory for the Polish player at Bwin.

How many times have Anisimova and Swiatek played each other so far? Not once, which makes Saturday’s final even more exciting. However, I expect a fairly clear victory for the lady who has been ranked number one in the world for over 125 weeks.

We get strong odds of 2.00 for a victory in two sets. Wimbledon week went well for me, with 12 of my 14 tips from the daily overviews coming in. These included several women’s matches, with both semi-final tips also coming in.

Swiatek starts the final at 1.44, while Anisimova has been given odds of 2.90. Given Swiatek’s performances, I think the difference is still too small. No opponent has been able to hold a candle to her so far. Only against Caty McNally did she get off to a bad start in the second round.

However, that was her only lost set of the tournament. She sent Belinda Bencic home in quick fashion with a 6-2, 6-0 victory. Ljudmila Samsonovoa, Clara Tauson, and Danielle Collins also had no chance recently.

In these three matches, she scored more points on her opponent’s serve than the server herself. And she only let a few points slip in isolated cases. I can hardly imagine her losing this match in her current form.

She may not have the fastest shots, but she moves excellently on the court, manages to take the pace out of the ball with good changes of direction and steer the rallies in her direction. With her best grass court tennis ever, she is currently storming towards her first Wimbledon triumph.

Anisimova, who is exactly three months younger than Swiatek, is still inexperienced in such matches. She will play her first major final on Saturday, her best result to date being the French Open semi-finals in 2019.

She is likely to try to prevent Swiatek from getting into the rally with long, hard shots in order to close out the points quickly. After all, her opponent does not make mistakes. Her victory over Sabalenka came as something of a surprise, but the title favorite had already struggled in some of the previous rounds.

The Belarusian had plenty of chances, but only converted three of her 14 break points. In these scenarios, Swiatek is more aggressive and has stronger nerves, so Anisimova has a completely different task ahead of her in terms of mentality.

And Sabalenka has already secured 40 percent of the return points. How will that look against the best defensive player on the tour? Anisimova has already played a grass court final this season – also in London, at Queen’s Club.

There, she lost clearly to Germany’s Tatjana Maria, fighting off several break points. Swiatek lost to Jessica Pegula in the final in Bad Homburg, but is once again in much better form on British grass.

If you’re looking for slightly higher odds, Bet365 is offering a 2-0 win with no tiebreak. I’m expecting Swiatek to break serve a few times, so it shouldn’t be a long match. Combined, that comes out to 2.70.

The single odds of 1.33 for under 0.5 tiebreaks are definitely worth a combination bet in my opinion. You can also get a great new customer bonus at Bet365 and benefit from lightning-fast payouts.

My Anisimova Swiatek tip

Swiatek has been flawless in her last four matches, returning strongly and conceding few breaks. Her last three opponents lost more points on their own serve against the high-flyer than they won.

Anisimova beat Sabalenka, but conceded 14 break points in the process. The number one’s nerves prevented worse from happening from the American’s point of view.

She will face even more resistance against Swiatek, who hardly ever makes mistakes. In addition, the five-time Grand Slam winner is significantly more experienced in such an important match. In other words: Anisimova has no final experience whatsoever.

And Swiatek’s statistics show just how strong she is in a final. She has taken home the trophy after all five of her final appearances and has only dropped one set in total.

Therefore, my Anisimova Swiatek tip is: 2:0 Swiatek
