Borussia Mönchengladbach – Borussia Dortmund
The Bundesliga continues this weekend and the 29th matchday awaits us. A special duel in the Saturday conference is the Borussia duel. Borussia from Gladbach will host BVB at home. A historic duel that has always invited goals in the past and this weekend promises to be another exciting match. Find out who has the edge in this game and what we can look forward to in our Gladbach – Dortmund betting tip.
Gladbach won the direct duel with their neighbors in the table, VfL Wolfsburg, last matchday. After falling behind early on, Borussia turned the game around in the second half and managed to win the match 3:1 thanks to a concentrated performance. The win and the resulting three points lifted Gladbach further out of the danger zone, now nine points clear of a direct relegation spot.
On the last matchday in the league, BVB lost 1-0 to a strong Stuttgart side, despite a good performance. In a game that did not live up to the result, both teams had good chances, but in the end it was the Swabians who scored the winner, sending Dortmund up to fifth in the league. During the week, Edin Terzić’s team had to face Atlético Madrid away from home in the top flight.
They made the game difficult for themselves with two individual mistakes in the first half and went into the break 2-0 down. They did better in the second half and scored the equalizer to make the final score 2:1, putting them in a solid position for the second leg in Dortmund

Gladbach Form & Balance Check
The Foals are having a very mixed season this year. They have never really managed to free themselves from mid-table and have even hovered dangerously close to the relegation zone at times. However, Borussia’s win last weekend gave them some breathing space and, with seven wins, ten draws and 13 defeats, they are currently in eleventh place, nine points ahead of the direct relegation zone.
They have won one, drawn three and lost one of their last five games. The form curve is therefore pointing slightly upwards, but they must now take this momentum with them
Letting up after taking the lead
Gladbach’s performance after taking the lead is particularly worrying. No team in the Bundesliga has lost more points after initially being ahead. 27 in total – that is the Foals’ inglorious haul. As a reminder: Had Gladbach played more consistently after taking the lead and not lost a single point, they would currently be in fourth place, which would mean a place in the Champions League. Borussia should therefore no longer rest on their laurels

- Weakest team after taking the lead
Dortmund Form & Balance Check
After four wins in a row, BVB suffered their first defeat last weekend when they lost to direct rivals Stuttgart. As a result, they lost fourth place, but are still in good form. They have won six of their last ten games, drawn two and have only been beaten twice. Their performance during the week will give them courage and they will be motivated to play their way back into the top flight.
Strong Dortmund away
Dormund seem to feel very comfortable in foreign stadiums. They have won seven of their 14 away games, drawn six and lost just once. With the resulting 27 points, they picked up one point more than at home and are behind the soon-to-be champions from Leverkusen in the away table
Dortmund facts & analysis
- Second strongest away team in the league
- Last game lost
- Only one defeat in the last five games
Gerardo Seoane will probably not change the playing system compared to last week. In a classic 3-4-3, it worked against Wolfsburg after a long time and the coach has little reason to change anything in terms of personnel. One possible option in the center, however, is Reitz, who ensured a clear situation with the 3-1 goal last weekend.
Dortmund will probably play in their usual 4-3-3 formation. There will probably be a few changes compared to the game in Stuttgart and against Madrid. During the week, the substitutions of Brandt, Bynoe-Gittens and Haller worked much better in Dortmund’s game, so they will have earned their place in the starting eleven. Nmecha, Adeyemi and Füllkrug will take their places on the bench
