After 19 wins in a row, Jannik Sinner was able to end Novak Djokovic’s winning streak. In the second group match, he beat the world number one in three sets after three hours.

He defeated the “Djoker” after more than three hours and the crowd celebrated him with chants. Sinner is a hot favourite in the race for the 2023 ATP Finals title. It was his second success after beating Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-4.
Rune had an easy game against the Greek, or rather, no game at all. At 2:1 in the first set, the Greek had to retire due to injury. He was on court for just 14 minutes.
Now a tough task awaits against Sinner, who is the clear favorite at 1.30 going into the final group match. Bet3000 has given Rune high underdog odds of 3.30.
It is Rune who leads the head-to-head with 2:0. However, the two youngest participants in this year’s finals have only played each other once on hard court, with Sinner having to retire in the third set of Sofia 2022 due to injury.
Sinner also won the first set 6-1 against Rune in Monte Carlo 2023. However, after giving away a lot of points in the first set, the Dane was able to go one better and win the next two sets 7-5 and 7-5.
However, Sinner is much stronger on hard courts and brought very good form to the finals. He defeated Djokovic with his accurate serves to the outside, among other things, and he also set up all the points with dangerous inside-out balls
However, Rune hasn’t performed badly against Djokovic in the last two matches either, winning a set each time and beating the most successful player of all time twice in his young career.
He was also on court for three hours less on Tuesday and definitely has a freshness advantage on Thursday, albeit only a small one. After all, only two games have been played in Turin and the players have a day’s breather between matches.
Due to the clear favorite odds, there are strong odds of 1.85 for Rune to win the set, definitely not a bad choice for the player who is still unbeaten against Sinner.
In any case, it should be a duel with some long rallies. Both players are extremely strong in defense and benefit from their speed, among other things.
Sinner is definitely more stable in his current form. Tsitsipas was unable to get a single break point in the first match and Djokovic was only able to take one service game from the South Tyrolean in three long sets.

Sinner is in better shape and the more stable player, but only the 2:0 in sets odds for the South Tyrolean would be worthwhile, which are definitely too hot for me after the three-hour match against the number one player in the world.
