Eintracht Frankfurt – Borussia Dortmund
Sunday’s matchday 9 in the Bundesliga will be dominated by European competitions. All four teams then in action were on the road during the week on the European stage. In Frankfurt’s Stadtwald, the SGE, which played in the Conference League on Thursday, will meet the BVB, which acted in the Champions League on Wednesday. And the European tasks solved both teams very confidently. The Eagles beat Helsinki 6:0 in their home stadium, while Dortmund got their first win of the Champions League season in Newcastle.
And things have also been going well for the two teams in the league recently. BVB has won its last five games in a row and also beat Bremen 1-0 the previous week. Frankfurt, on the other hand, is also coming off two wins in a row. For example, the SGE also won at TSG Hoffenheim on the last matchday.

Frankfurt form & balance check
At the start of the game, the SGE acted rather unimaginatively in front of goal and was intent on keeping the box tight at the back. Most recently, however, the young player got a little mental break from his coach. Against Helsinki, however, the PSG youth player was back in the starting eleven and promptly repaid his trust. Dina Ebimba contributed two goals and set up another. He will now look to continue his good form against BVB.

Dortmund form & balance check
Borussia Dortmund fought their way to the top of the table last Rückrunde despite a lack of match dominance, narrowly missing out on the championship. This season, BVB is once again among the Bundesliga leaders. Currently, the Borussians occupy fourth place in the league.
The Dortmunders are one of the few teams that have not yet suffered a defeat and have recently achieved an impressive five wins in a row. That included last Friday’s 1-0 win over Werder Bremen. Kobel outstanding
Gregor Kobel has firmly established his place in Borussia Dortmund’s goal for some time now. The Swiss already showed an impressive performance at all levels last season. In 27 games the previous season, the 25-year-old conceded just 32 goals and kept his box clean in eleven games.
This season, too, the Swiss is in first-class form. Kobel always radiates calmness and has already recorded important points for coach Terzic’s team several times during the season. And in Newcastle, too, the keeper was in absolute top form, scraping balls off the line time and again.

At the SGE we will again see the usual 3-4-2-1. Behind the tops we expect again world champion Mario Götze against his old club. Captain Kevin Trapp could also return to the goal of the Eagles.
Dortmund we expect to start in a 4-3-3, which is how Borussia started in Newcastle. Emre Can, who had to be substituted on the island, will probably be back. Julian Brandt and Julian Ryerson are also likely to be fit again, but will probably come off the bench for the time being.
