Date & Start time: When is the Silverstone GP 2023?
From Spielberg in Austria, Formula 1 now travels on to Silverstone. Before the summer break, the Silverstone GP is joined by races in Hungary and Belgium.
The Silverstone Formula 1 GP takes place on Sunday, 9 July 2023 from 16:00. The race will take place at Silverstone Circuit.

The race weekend at Silverstone has the classic sequence of events:
Before qualifying at 16:00 on Saturday decides who will start from pole position, there are first three free practice sessions. Two of them will already take place on Friday, the third will be held on Saturday afternoon.
The race of the Silverstone GP will then start on Sunday at 16:00 German time.

The Silverstone GP circuit
The Formula 1 GP of Great Britain is held at the Silverstone Circuit. The legendary race track is located about 100 km from London. The circuit was first used for a Formula 1 race in 1950.
In 2010, the Silverstone Circuit was extensively rebuilt and the famous Bridge Curve had to be removed.
The new circuit has a length of 5.901km, the drivers pass 18 curves. A total of 52 laps will be completed at Sunday’s Silverstone GP.
What makes the Silverstone Formula 1 British GP so special?
The Grand Prix at Silverstone is considered to be particularly rich in tradition. In the past, the races were still held on the runways of the former military airport. The new Silverstone circuit also has some special features.
The track layout with 18 corners is demanding, and the grip of the tyres must be right for ideal lap times. Most of the track’s corners can be negotiated at high speed, but this requires great driving skill.
The long straights, on the other hand, provide perfect overtaking opportunities. Therefore, there will certainly be one or two exciting manoeuvres.

This Formula 1 season, one man has emerged as the top favourite before almost every race: Max Verstappen.
The Red Bull driver clearly leads the Formula 1 World Championship standings and is once again the great dominator. Verstappen has won all of the last five races – most recently the Austrian GP.
For this reason, his role as favourite at the British Grand Prix is anything but surprising.
But if you look at the history, the winner can only be Lewis Hamilton.
Looking at his rivals, Sergio Perez is the most likely to stop his team-mate’s winning streak. The Mexican is currently struggling a bit, but last weekend at the Austrian GP he drove from 15th on the grid to 3rd.
Will Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc also be a candidate for victory or a podium at the British Grand Prix? At the Austrian GP, the Ferrari driver finished second.
The Silverstone GP is also a home race for the second Mercedes driver George Russell. However, the Englishman only comes to his home race as an outsider.
