Chelsea FC’s motto this summer has clearly been: change! With a new owner and several transfers, there is now virtually a completely new team. After last year’s third place, they are now aiming for the championship. They have definitely made the right transfers for this. Let’s start with the players the Blues let go. Starting with striker Lukaku, through defensive edge Rüdiger to his centre-back partner Christensen. This means that important pillars are gone and others are still to leave. But they have also replaced them well. Koulibaly, Sterling, Slonina and Cucurella are the new arrivals to date. The Blues have certainly not suffered a loss of quality with these purchases.
The missing piece of the puzzle
Those of you who have been paying closer attention to the transfers will notice that one position has not yet been filled. This is the centre forward. With the departure of Lukaku, a gap has become free in the centre forward position, which has not yet been filled. Intra-club candidates such as Timo Werner, who is still to move, or Kai Havertz, whom Tuchel prefers to see a little further back, are probably out. One name that has been mentioned more often recently is Aubameyang. The Gabonese has already proven his qualities in the Premier League and would therefore certainly be a reinforcement.
