Wimbledon Tips today – Matches today from 30.06.
Wimbledon is already into its fourth day of competition, by now the players have reached the 2nd round. Not all the favourites did splendidly at the start, although the really big sensations failed to materialise.
Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas, for example, two players who are expected to be at the top of the rankings, struggled through their matches – and are now hoping for a stronger second appearance.
If we look at the Wimbledon schedule with an Austrian eye, Dennis Novak of course immediately stands out. He has a great chance to advance to the 3rd round on Thursday.
Or will there even be a real surprise at the end who can score in London? Whether it’s Benjamin Bonzi or Brandon Nakashima, there are a few candidates who could rise like Phoenix from the ashes.
Wimbledon Tips Today – 06/30/2022 Preview Day 4
Stefanos Tsitsipas had to shake quite a bit in the 1st round, and that against a qualifier. With Jordan Thompson, his opponent is now stronger and the Australian has started really strong. Can he really hurt Tsitsipas?
Dennis Novak has a great chance on Thursday to reach the 3rd round of Wimbledon for the second time since 2018. To do so, he would have to defeat Jason Kubler, who, however, could eliminate Daniel Evans outright.
Once again, the big question is: How fit is Rafael Nadal? He had big problems against Francisco Cerundolo. In order not to put any further strain on his foot, a quick win against Ricardas Berankis is the order of the day.
Denis Shapovalov’s weak form almost continued against Arthur Rinderknecht. The Canadian barely stayed in the tournament, but will the performance be enough to beat Brandon Nakashima as well?
Nick Kyrgios cursed, spat, had to shake and won in five sets. The enfant terrible once again provided plenty of fuel for the fire, and it is clear that many neutral fans hope that there will also be plenty of “highlights” against Filip Krajinovic.
Benjamin Bonzi and Jenson Booksby are two players on the rise, both want to go far in Wimbledon and surprise positively. In the direct duel, however, only one will be able to progress!
Tennis tips today broadcast: Where will the matches be played on 30.06.?
Wimbledon is at home on Sky, even if many would like to watch the third Grand Slam tournament of the year on free TV. At just before 12 o’clock Sky sends out its five channels to broadcast from all courts. Only from the quarter-finals onwards will it then be possible not to miss a single rally.
Wimbledon tips today 30.06.: Jordan Thompson – Stefanos Tsitsipas (14:35 h)
Advanced, but without the glitz and glamour. Stefanos Tsitsipas has not yet made friends with the green grass. In Stuttgart and Halle he was already eliminated after the second match, and in London he is also showing problems.
He won 7-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 against Alexander Ritschard, a qualifier from Switzerland. Had the outsider not missed 13 of his 17 break opportunities, Tsitsipas might even have been eliminated!
The tournament started with completely different feelings for Jordan Thompson. He swept Roberto Carballes off the court 6-4, 6-1, 6-1, only allowing his opponent to break once. Can he repeat this performance?
A few months ago, Tsitsipas won the first and only direct duel 6-3, 7-6, so Thompson kept up well here. Nevertheless, the bookmakers can hardly imagine a surprise, with average odds of 1.15 to 4.60.
Our Thompson Tsitsipas Expert Tip: Thompson to win the set
Wimbledon tips today 30.06.: Dennis Novak – Jason Kubler (12:00 h)
Can Dennis Novak reach the 3rd round at Wimbledon for the second time? The Austrian got through the qualifying with fluttering nerves, then had to play Facundo Bagnis.
Here he was clearly superior, but it took him a long time to finally close the bag. He missed 13 of 17 break chances, but in the end it was still enough to win 7-6, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, which still left room for improvement.
His current opponent, Jason Kubler, is also a qualifier. The Australian had actually gone into his 1st round as a clear underdog, after all he was facing local hero Daniel Evans.
However, as if he was always serving in the main draw of a Grand Slam, Kubler conjured up a 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 on the court. He made use of five of eight break opportunities and did not concede any to his opponent – that is really something to be proud of.
Our Novak Kubler expert tip: Win Kubler
Wimbledon tips today 30.06.: Ricardas Berankis – Rafael Nadal (12:00 h)
For Rafael Nadal, the Wimbledon tournament got off to a much more troublesome start than anyone had imagined. The well-known injury in his foot handicapped him severely, and he won relatively narrowly against Francisco Cerundolo with 6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
He was very lucky that his opponent could not profit from his mistakes. Nadal gave away an unbelievable 18 break chances! It was just as well that Cerundolo only used four of them.
No question, the record-breaking champion didn’t look really fit when it came to Grand Slams. Ricardas Berankis therefore fancies his chances, even if his odds are of course in double figures. The Lithuanian started with a win against Sam Querrey.
6-4, 7-5, 6-3, only twice did he have to fend off a possible break. He hasn’t competed since the French Open, so whether his 1.75m will be enough for him to hold his own against Nadal?

Wimbledon tips today 30.06: Denis Shapovalov – Brandon Nakashima (15:15)
When will Denis Shapovalov finally get back into form? He has been eliminated in the 1st round five times in a row, and his three preparation tournaments on grass were also subterranean. This series almost continued at Wimbledon.
He won 6-1, 6-7, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1 against Arthur Rinderknecht, but was only convincing at the beginning and towards the end of the match. With 87% of points won on the first serve, the service saved him the victory.
Once again, there was no trace of sovereignty in the Canadian, nothing reminded of Shapovalov, who had reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2021. Brandon Nakashima, on the other hand, only had to struggle for a short time in his opener.
He beat German qualifier Nicola Kuhn 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2, conceding only one break. Like Shapovalov, Nakashima, 20 years young, is known for close results.
Our Shapovalov Nakashima Expert Tip: Over 39.5 Games
Wimbledon tips today 30.06: Filip Krajinovic – Nick Kyrgios (17:45)
Nick Kyrgios as world number 40 against a qualifier: Anyone who thought this would be a straightforward affair was wrong. The extroverted Australian had big problems against Paul Jubb, in the end it became a 3-6, 6-1, 7-5, 6-7, 7-6.
He spat in the direction of the stands, claimed to be offended, served aces and double faults in equal measure. From experience, it never gets boring with him. His preparation tournaments showed: If he wants, he can beat anyone, even players like Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Now he has to face Filip Krajinovic, who started with a thriller, a 5-7, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 against Jiri Lehecka. A match can hardly last much longer.
In Queens, the Serb had shown that he was a force to be reckoned with on grass, only being stopped in the final by Matteo Berrettini 4-6, 5-7. The bookmakers’ favourite, however, is Kyrgios at 1.30 to 3.40.
Our Krajinovic Kyrgios Expert Tip: 5 sets
Wimbledon tips today 30.06: Benjamin Bonzi – Jenson Brooksby (13:15)
1.70 to 2.10 – looking at the odds between Benjamin Bonzi and Jenson Brooksby, it quickly becomes clear that both players can be expected to win. The Frenchman has already been really strong on grass in preparation.
In Halle, he almost defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas, and in Mallorca he was eliminated in the semi-finals. Against? Tsitsipas again. His first round in Wimbledon brought him a 6-3, 6-3, 6-1 against Zdenek Kolar, it was the expected sovereign start.
Jenson Brooksby, however, also had little to criticise, winning 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 against Mikhail Kukushkin. The fact that Bonzi didn’t give his opponent a single chance to break was also a strong point.
By the way, the current opponents have never played against each other. Brooksby, who is ten centimetres taller, had only won one match in his three preparatory tournaments on grass.
Our Expert Tip: Win Bonzi
