How about Daniel Altmaier, for example? In his first appearance in the main draw, he gets an opponent on a par with him in the 1st round.
The chance of a German winner at Wimbledon, it sank towards zero a few weeks ago. After the serious injury, the others have to pull the coals out of the fire, but very few experts expect really strong tournaments.
Daniel Altmaier therefore has nothing to lose on the sacred turf in London, but everything to gain. Last year he took part in the qualification for the first time, but failed in the 2nd round against Benjamin Bonzi.

He has never played against Mikael Ymer, his current rival. The Swede is exactly three days older and 24 places behind Altmaier in the rankings. So they are relatively close together, which is probably one reason why the German betting companies can’t really make up their minds.
Both players have an average of 1.85 to 1.95. A match of equals is expected, so is Ymer in a good mood at the moment? Last year, the 23-year-old made his first appearance in the main draw at Wimbledon.
He fought off Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in five sets then, then also cut a good figure in his 1:4 against Felix Auger-Aliassime. In Eastbourne, Ymer wanted to prepare himself for the grass court of Wimbledon, but unfortunately it didn’t really work out.
He already failed to qualify against James Duckworth. Since the Open Sud in France, which took place at the beginning of February, he only made it through the first round at the French Open.
In all other tournaments he was eliminated directly in round 1. The fact that he won against Daniel Evans at Roland Garros caused a sensation. Now, however, the Swede will have to serve on the much faster grass court.

Even without Alexander Zverev, the German tennis stars want to convince. With Daniel Altmaier you can definitely speak of a stable form, in recent weeks he annoyed many players who are ahead of him in the rankings.
