NBA Playoffs 2022 on Sunday, 22.05.2022
The Boston Celtics can take the lead for the first time tonight against the Miami Heat. The chances of this happening are good according to my Celtics Heat prediction, because the Floridians were completely off their game the day before yesterday.
After all, when you play so badly that your own home crowd leaves empty seats well before the final siren sounds, good advice is at a premium!
I don’t think the visitors will recover from this disgrace too quickly…
First, the Heat won 118-107 and everything looked as if the Western Conference leaders could live up to their role as favourites, only to suddenly fall to 102-127 just 24 hours later.
In this series, it will probably remain exciting until the end – especially if Miami continues to give such gifts. The inability to sink three-pointers with any consistency, for example, has been a common thread throughout the playoffs.
In Game 2, they hit just 10 of 34 from long range – by comparison, the Celtics hit an unfathomable 20 threes from beyond the arc, one out of every two attempts. Where the Heat have been playing below their standards, Boston has been surprisingly strong for weeks.
In fact, I already pointed out in my Heat Celtics opener tip that Miami shouldn’t make the same mistake as the Bucks did earlier, allowing the Celtics to shoot from outside far too often.
For what was once identified as the C’s supposed weakness has now turned out to be their greatest strength: over the period of the Conference Semifinals against Milwaukee, the Celtics converted 50 more three-pointers than the defending champions – an NBA playoff record!
The Bostonians are simply steady at the moment and cause problems for the Heat because they are unpredictable due to their many accurate sharpshooters. Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown and Jaysom Tatum all took plenty of threes the day before yesterday, scoring over 23 points each.
With the Conference Finals now shipped to Boston, the home side’s confidence and therefore three-point percentage will surely benefit from this once again. This circumstance encourages me to consider a 1X2 bet for the first time in this changeable Series.
One player bet I’m going to make a note of, though, is of course Jaysom Tatum, who in my eyes seems to be developing more and more into the player of the tournament, and who is currently simply playing big.
The Celtics have the best defence in the NBA and currently exude immense confidence from their body language. With the C’s turning up the heat, especially at home, another Game 3 win seems inevitable.
After all, Boston has already won 17 of its last 22 NBA games at TD Garden. Miami, on the other hand, did not please me at all in the last game – but not only me, but also the fans, who even made an early exit.
The Heat fans left their own stadium in droves due to the abysmal performance of their team. Early in the last quarter, the hall in Miami was almost empty! This will certainly have left its mark on the players!
Because the C’s are considered the clear “winning horse” with betting odds as low as 1.38, while a win for the downed Heat trades at much higher odds of 3.30 on average.
Conclusion: If the famous “Momentum” has registered a residence, it is currently at “100 Legends Way”, the address of the Boston Basketball Temple! For the owners have just celebrated a euphoric victory over the Floridians.
Miami offered their own fans an unbelievably bad Game 2 and still has big problems making threes from distance – and they simply can’t afford to do that any longer at this level at the latest.
For their part, the C’s have several excellent long-range shooters in their ranks – including one Marcus Smart, who celebrated a spectacular comeback in the last game – which is why I trust them to win again!
