AC Milan vs. AC Florence
In contrast to the Bundesliga, the championship battle in Serie A is still completely open shortly before the end of the season. Last matchday even saw a change in the lead in Italy’s top division. Thanks to Inter Milan’s slip-up, city rivals AC were able to move past the defending champions into first place, a position they aim to defend with another win against Florence next Sunday. Kick-off is at 15:00 at the San Siro.
In the run-up to the game, the chances of this happening are pretty good. Florence have been in very good form until recently, with six unbeaten games in a row, but they have lost both of their last two Serie A matches. Whether we are now convinced of the third defeat in a row and what other predictions we would make for this game, now reveals our Milan vs Florence tip.

Milan Form & Balance Check
The tide has recently turned once again in the battle for the Serie A title. Last weekend, Milan narrowly beat Lazio 2-1 thanks to a last-minute goal from Sandro Tonali to secure an extremely important three points for the championship. The lead over Inter Milan was then two points, but the Nerazzuri still had a game in hand at the time, which they lost 2-1 at Bologna on Wednesday. As a result, AC Milan can now boast a two-point lead over second place with the same number of matches.
Remaining programme gives hope of title
This lead now only needs to be defended in the last four matchdays. The remaining programme should be encouraging in this respect. After the clash with Florence, Ibrahimović & Co. travel to Hellas Verona before the last home match of the season against Atalanta Bergamo. Finally, on the last matchday, there is an away game against Sassuolo, who are currently tenth in the table. However, Milan should not slip up again, because Inter also have four absolutely feasible opponents in front of them in the form of Udinese, Empoli, Cagliari and Sampdoria Genoa.
Milan facts & analysis
– 74 points from 34 games
– Most recent 2-1 win at Lazio Roma
– Unbeaten for 12 league games
– Conceded one against Lazio after 6 games without conceding
Florence form & balance check
Ac Florence recently suffered two bitter setbacks in their fight for international business. After three wins in a row and a total of six games without defeat, ex-Herthanian Krzysztof Piatek and his colleagues went completely empty-handed on the last two matchdays. The 2-1 defeat at relegation candidates Salernitana was followed by a clear 4-0 home defeat against Udinese last Wednesday. To be fair, however, it must be mentioned that two of the four goals were not scored until after the 90th minute.
Fiorentina still with three chunks in front of them
But with both Lazio (sixth) and AS Roma (fifth) picking up just one point from each of their last two games, the standings haven’t changed four at all. Fiorentina are still equal on points with Lazio in seventh place, two points behind fifth-placed AS Roma. So anything from eighth to fifth place is still possible in the remainder of the season. In view of the remaining programme, however, it could be extremely difficult to reach the Europa or Conference League. After the away game at Milan, Fiorentina will host direct rivals AS Roma before travelling to Sampdoria Genoa on the penultimate matchday. Finally, to round off the 21/22 season, the Violets will host the Old Lady of Torino.
Florence facts & analysis
– 56 points from 34 matches
– Last lost 0:4 against Udinese
– After 3 wins in a row, last lost 2 times
– First leg won 4:3
Predicted line-up – last update on 29 April 2022
The hosts will still have to do without Simon Kjaer and Alessandro Florenzi due to injury. The starting eleven could remain largely unchanged compared to the 2-1 win at Lazio.
Florence will have to do without Gaetano Castrovilli (knee surgery) for the next few months. There could well be changes in the starting eleven after the 4-0 defeat against Udinese. One possible candidate for the first eleven, for example, would be Jonathan Ikoné.
