Tennis Tips Today – Matches Today 26.04.

The French Open begins in Paris on 22 May this year. Reason enough for the best tennis players in the world to get in shape. From a German perspective, they are particularly looking forward to the current week, because:

The BMW Open is back! On the clay of Munich, fans are naturally hoping for a strong tournament for the players in black, red and gold. Alexander Zverev will also be competing here, but he will have tough competition.

Not only the Olympic champion will be playing in the Bavarian capital, but also top stars like Reilly Opelka and Casper Ruud. And then there is Oscar Otte, who is not in a bad mood.

We will not see the best players of the tournament on Tuesday, they start with a walk-through. All the more exciting is the question of which opponents they will actually meet.

Tennis tips today – 26.04.2022 preview

A top-ranked ATP tournament on German soil, that guarantees good playing time. In the duel between Mackenzie McDonald and Ilya Ivashka, the odds are not too far apart at 2.40 to 1.50, whether you can tell on court?

In the duel between Hugo Gaston and Marcos Giron, the bookmakers also think they see two players who are more or less on a par. The Frenchman seems to have the better cards here.

It will probably be even closer when Filip Krajinovic and Cristian Garin face each other. This is a match without a definite favourite, so will we automatically see three sets?

The Dutchman wants to prove that Botic van de Zandschulp is in stable form in Munich. In Brandon Nakashima, he will have an opponent whom he should actually beat on a normal day.

The highlight from the German point of view is of course the performance of Oscar Otte, who was already strong last week in Belgrade. He is so clearly favoured against Marko Topo that there is not even a 1.20 for a win!

Tennis tips today broadcast: Where will the matches be played on 26.04?

The TV broadcast in Munich will be shared by several channels. In addition to the final, Bavarian television will also show a semi-final and a quarter-final, so it will only start on 29 April. From Monday to Saturday, there will also be a match in the stream. Whoever plays on Centre Court will also be broadcast automatically on Sky!

Tennis tips today 26.04.: Mackenzie McDonald – Ilya Ivashka (11:00 a.m.)

In four of the last five tournaments Mackenzie McDonald has made it past the first hurdle, will he be able to do the same in Munich? The US American has recently had bad luck with opponents who are too big.

Diego Schwartzman, Nick Kyrgios, Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz and Andrey Rublev were the players he failed to beat. The world number 51 now gets a competitor on a par with Ilya Ivashka (Rank. 44).

A year ago, the two played each other on clay for the first time, also in Munich, with Ivashka winning in three sets. Subsequently, however, two duels went to McDonald, and narrowly.

The Belarusian took a set off Stefanos Tsitsipas in Barcelona, but never made it past the first round in the three tournaments before that. He has good memories of Munich, however, because in 2021 he only lost to Jan-Lennard Struff in the semi-finals and even beat Alexander Zverev!

Our Expert Tip: Over 20.5 Games

Tennis tips today 26.04.: Hugo Gaston vs Marcos Giron (11:00 a.m.)

Two debutants make their first acquaintance with the Munich clay: Hugo Gaston and Marcos Giron. The Frenchman is ahead at 1.50 to 2.40 with the bookmakers, and rightly so? After all, he failed to qualify in Monte Carlo.

The 1.73m short Gaston had won against John Isner in Miami. It was the first and only time this year that he won three matches in a tournament.

Giron, on the other hand, has always gone home after the first round in the last five competitions, which is probably why he will start his match on Tuesday as an underdog. He had his best time in February, among other things reaching the semi-finals in Dallas.

By the way, the two have never met directly, Gaston is lucky that with Giron and 1.80m an opponent is waiting who is not much taller than himself.

Our expert tip: Over 2.5 sets

Tennis tips today 26.04: Filip Krajinovic – Cristian Garin (11:00 am)

Although Cristian Garin is 19 spots ahead of his first round opponent, the odds are almost identical. Is Filip Krajinovic in such a good mood? The Serb was eliminated early at home in Belgrade and didn’t get far in Monte Carlo either.

Only at the Open Sud de France did his game work and lead him to the semi-finals. Since then, however, he has won his opener three times and then returned home. Sounds doable for Garin?

The 25-year-old disappointed all the way in Belgrade when he lost to Holger Rune in a quick-fire match. After his semi-final in Houston, he doesn’t seem to be able to pick up the form.

On the other hand, he will travel to Munich with the best memories, as he snatched the title here in 2019 with a win over Matteo Berrettini! He also defeated Alexander Zverev and Diego Schwartzman, but he seems to be far from that form at the moment.

Our Expert Tip: Over 21.5 Games

Tennis tips today 26.04.: Botic van de Zandschulp – Brandon Nakashima (11:00 a.m.)

Where is Botic van de Zandschulp heading? The Dutchman is fighting his way up the world rankings, he has already reached rank 40. That he was eliminated after Round 1 in Miami and Monte Carlo was therefore quite surprising.

With odds of 1.60 to 2.30, he is ahead before his first duel with Brandon Nakashima, but not by much. It will be the 26-year-old’s first appearance at the BMW Open.

Nakashima, 36 places behind him, has also never played in the BMW Open before. His advantage over van de Zandschulp might be that he has cleared the first hurdle in three of the last four tournaments.

In Barcelona, he lost outright to Casper Ruud, which happens to even the best on clay. Frances Tiafoe and Emil Ruusuvuori knocked him out before, these two are not among the worst either!

Our expert tip: 2:1 van de Zandschulp

Tennis tips today 26.04.: Oscar Otte – Marco Topo (11:00 a.m.)

Quarterfinal of Belgrade and the new world number 62, things are looking up for Oscar Otte! He even held his own against Fabio Fognini and is now rightly Germany’s second best tennis player behind Alexander Zverev.

At his premiere in Munich, he wants to go far, an exit in the 1st round is actually unthinkable. His opponent is Marko Topo and he is ranked 756th in the rankings.

The young hope is 18 years old, was born in Germany but now competes for Serbia. In the qualifiers, he eliminated two much stronger players, Henri Laaksonen and Norbert Gombos.

Topo has not really been able to draw attention to himself in recent weeks, but he has also competed against little-known rivals on the ITF stage. It is clear that he is behind against Otte with odds of 6.00 to 1.10.

Our Expert Tip: 2:0 Otte
